    If you do try to reinforce it the slickes way (in my opinion is to do like the Nitro lids. I will see if I can find a picture. Just bend one out of aluminum then pop rivet in place.

    I run glass. It is the same weight as aluminum (contrary to popular belief) its just as, if not tougher than aluminum and rides 100% better. I wouldn't own an aluminum boat. They do have a strong following but thats just my preference.

    I have 7/8" rails on my skeeter and they work fine. I would just go with which ever is cheaper or you think you'll like more as I'm sure it will serve the purpose.
