    I have a 42 inch rocket mounted that went 22 lbs from way back in 91 full of eggs or it may have not went even 20. 42 inches minimum sounds about right to me SM bass 19" is a good minimum. It's attainable but not easy. 13" gill would be a monster? My biggest is 11 and went 1.5

    Boating that stretch can be fun. Sounds like he wants to explore. Another scenic run is Indian Hills into the Little Missouri Arm. Shorter too.

    Made the run from Indian Hills to the Hook last August. Its a haul and as luck goes we had 35 mph winds come up on the way back with about 20 miles of hair raising waves. Just watch the weather. There are plenty of bays to hide in if it does get too rough.
