Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

I think I will be ordering that scope tomorrow. I don't plan on driving my car over the scope so I don't need that kind of durability. To get the features I want would cost me over $2000 for a Nightforce. Looks like dollar for dollar I'm going to have to go Vortex again. I knocked my one...

Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

Montana is getting to expensive for elk and deer, but I have hunted bear and wolf lately. I am in Jamesown, but go to the Badlands often. I am headed out to Montana in July for a little fishing with my wife, son, and grandkids

Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

BGH thank you for the offer. I have been looking at both the Vortex and the Nightforce at Sheels for a few months. Last year I was tipping towards the Nightforce, but I like the features of the Vortex. I prefer their turrets and really like the EBR 2-C (moa) reticle. The Viper PSTs that I...

Yes, and don't the lower priced Nightforce sell for $1200+? I think Sheels has a Nightforce for under $1300. It had a covered windage turret which I didn't like. Every time I find what I like it's beyond my wallets ability, and that keeps bringing me back to Vortex.

Petra the Vortex I am looking at the suggested retail is $1399. I think you can get a Nightforce for a little more. http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-viper-pst-gen-2-5-25x50-ffp-riflescope-with-ebr-2c-moa-reticle/reticle

Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

I like my old Leupold scopes. The new ones look clear, but something is not holding under heavy recoil. On my 300 mag I get two 1/4 inch groups an inch apart. It held horizontal zero, but not elevation. I bought one Vortex, then another, then another. The razor spotting scope and razor...

Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

SDMF since I sometimes have a hard time telling when someone is serious, and when they are having fun I have to ask what it is you don't like about Vortex. I am thinking about the PST second generation with 25 inches per turn and a better zero stop. I can get a Nightforce for about $300 more...

Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

I have only shot three deer under 1000 yards in the past 15 years. If you learn your scopes flaws and counter for them nearly anything with target turrets will work if it tracks repeatably. Perhaps more important for long range is deer behavior, when they are going to move and when they will...

Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

Buckmaster the worst tracking for me was the old Nikons. They have got better but everything else beats them. Leuopold tracks true, but my rifles don't group well with them. I had two Mark IN that a 30 year old cheap Bushnell would outshoot both. Right here in North Dakota weather variables...

Long Range Shooting Best Scope for the Money

Your in the same boat I was 20 years ago, and it hasn't improved. I have an appointment with a surgeon next Tuesday. I have given up on Leuopold. Loved them in the 1980s, but they have gone down hill I recommend against cartridge matched turrets unless you always plan on hunting the same...

Thanks. Your right I should have checked that story before I posted. It's just to easy to believe liberal stupidity. Ignorance and dumb ate not that related. Dumb is a measure of intelligence, but even very intelligent people are ignorant of many things. Not debating that I let myself be...

    This isn't good

I didn't get the article actually a synopsis was on the wife's Facebook. Even though it's satire isn't it crazy that the left has gone so far out of their mind over Trump that we even think these things possible. For example Schummer was trying to twist yesterday's summit with Trump and Kim...

Ok I just seen clear evidence of either low IS, or madness. I read Ben Shapiro posted an article about Democrat legislation to make it a hate crime to eat at Chic-Fil-A. They say Christians are pushing hate. It was only a year ago when people laughed when I said Christianity is under attack.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/dumb-and-dumber-why-we-re-getting-less-intelligent-80k3bl83v From the Drudge headlines today. So is this a world wide phenomenon? Is it new and poorer teaching techniques, or environmental? Can it be turned around? I find it worrisome when I think of...

    There's Never Enough

I think we all relate, but now I am looking back at those points you made. When I was a kid on the farm there was no way parents were driving you to town for any sport. If you wanted an activity go pitch hay to the cows. The next generation got to do a lot more than we did, and this...
