Is the .243 to small for deer?

I know one thing those amax's are fun fun fun to shoot. SDMF helped me develop a load for the 75's. We settled on 38 grains of IMR 4350 and had a muzzle velocity of 3350 plus. Those amax's are fun as hell haha. I have a ruger .243 with a 1:9 twist that im hoping will work for the 105 amax.

Is the .243 to small for deer?

I never liked ballistic tips for hunting and imagine the amax splashes just as much or more than a ballistic tip. I shoot 75 grain amax out of my .22-250 for long range fun and plan to shoot some yotes with it soon. Im betting they rip the coyote up bad.

Is the .243 to small for deer?

I prefer road hunting with a .338 lapua. I can shoot over quarters of land that are posted to spots that aren posted. I dont even need to wear boots hunting, just slippers. I aslo like to have a pan of carmel rolls in the pickup. I set a plate on the engine block to warm them up.

Is the .243 to small for deer?

Ive shot 170 class whiteys in cattails with a .243, the 100 grain partition will go up the butt and out the chest. - - - Updated - - - That being said the deer can run a fair distance with ass shots from a .243 so i get your point.

The gut on that deer looked like an overstuffed vacuum cleaner bag by the time big j showed up with the knife. What a stink.

Anything under a 7mm rem mag is like pissing into the wind for deer. Just not enough knockdown power.... - - - Updated - - - Anyone know where i can buy some low recoil rounds for my .338? I have a little cousin who wears glasses that needs to borrow my .338 for his youth deer hunt.

    3" shells for Pheasant

The heavier shotshells are wicked wicked wicked and very expensive. They have alot more bb's and the energy difference means very little as there is still more than enough energy to penetrate a bird. I use them only for late season roosters and turkeys. Pattern them, its like an anvil hitting...

    3" shells for Pheasant

I use 2 3/4 inch 4's 1 3/8 oz the vast majority iof time for pheasants. That being said, there is no way in hades that load has more knockdown power than 3 inch 1 3/4 shot even with a slightly slower velocity.
