    Send them in to get rebuilt and buy a couple new ones while you wait. - - - Updated - - - I have 3 pfleuger presidents for ice fishing. They are about half as good as a shimano in the same price range. The drag in the president really sucks. I have never tried them in the summer though.

    The waterfowl numbers and the variety of water birds present is amazing. Seen a flock of ibis's a couple days ago and they are somethin i tell ya.

    I shock the fillets in ice water for 3 to 4 hours till the tails curl. That really firms that meat up.

    I clean fish with a standard knife and can tell you that a good electric will do a better job faster and waste much less meat than a fillet knife. I have long fillet knives also to get extra leverage and they just arent as fast.

    I have started making my own seal bags from a roll and placing whole fillets sideways in the bag after zippering and trimming off red meat. It is so much faster to with the wider bag and i cut them about 8 inches in length. They seal very quickly this way also.

    It is legal to clean fish on the water. U have to keep the guts and follow the rules is all.

    I would never paint the barrel or action or scope. My favorite for the stock is sprayed on zolatone. It looks great and will last forever.

    I also love cleaning fish and take great pride in getting the fillets perfect with no waste. The Berkeley blades on my cordless knife are amazing. U have to try it.
