    I am not the one advocating closing season during the rut but questioned the op why if he wanted it closed for gun why not also close it for bow. As far as the advantage of bow to rifle hunters during the rut goes I think the increased movement benefits both.

    Trying to compare SD to ND for deer hunting with the present regulations and herd population is comparing apples to oranges. In 2016 approximately 25% of the deer taken were with bow ( excluding gratis ) or just shy of 20% including gratis, so it does have a big impact on the population 2016...
