    Just a question, shouldn't those have been hard wired and put in when the house was built? If you did a loan, the insurance company and bank should of required them before closing.

    Code pssssttt. Maybe for new construction. My modest home was built in the early '70s and I have lived here for 24 years. Have never had an inspector or city assessor in my house.
