Cabelas MTP Polar Weight are warm and comfortable when stationary in very cold weather. I think the Wookie Suit (Thermal Zone Stand Hunter) would be even warmer but I haven't found it clearanced enough for me yet.
Vehemently disagree. Then again, I've only shot deer through the lungs with 243/85's, 25-06/100's, 257Wby/100's, 270/140's, 7-08/120's, 280/120's, 7Rem/120's, 7WSM/120's, 308/130's, 300Win/200's, and watched a number killed w/338/210's.
More often than not this "pencil through" business...
"Bang for the Buck" You're unlikely to find better deal than this between now and the end of hunting season. It's not mine, and I don't know the owner, but I've used 2 of these a bunch and $600 is a steal...
I had a load of lumber on my ATV trailer that had shifted a few times whilst being towed down the highway. I moved stuff around, tightened the straps and finally got stuff to stay put. Dusk comes along and I'm driving through a 65MPH construction zone. Momma goose decides that it's time to...
Wood, blued, heavier, and longer are all things that make the rifle less desirable. The 375 is a LOT of rifle for not much more recoil than a heavy loaded 338 w/250's.
Bah!! My Kimber Talkeetna in 375 H&H weighs 9# scoped and shoots 250 TTSX's and 270 TSX's into little knots. It's SS, already has a great synthetic stock, and has a wonderful trigger. In a perfect world it'd come with a sling stud in the stock instead of on the bbl, but that's a 5min fix, and...
A bush plane and a pilot's license would be handy pieces of hunting gear that a guy could get great use out of up there but doesn't need down here too often.
