    You know a fisherman when?

Those little cracks might be small but they are mighty painful. I've tried it all , from Norveegen to everything else the commercial fishermen used to claim was the best. I tried this and haven't looked back. EDIT Why do the pictures show up as a teeny little empty blue green square ?

    night crawlers

I had no clue that they die later , I'll have to pay attention to that, I have a little inverter that is pretty safe if you pay any attention at all. I hook it up to a 12 volt battery or my jump starter.

    night crawlers

Lycan, Those sound like red wigglers you had , European crawlers just lay around as long as they are happy unless there is something they don't like in the soil they will try to get out. I have mentioned Larry Hall from Brainard MN before , He is about as good as they get for tinkering and...

    Do walleyes Imprint?

Good question , I wouldn't doubt that at least some of them do and others might be many miles away by the next spring. I read a few times where fish were were tagged in one area and caught a year or two later quite a few miles away. I forget how many miles but it was a bunch, Different...

    night crawlers

They are a little on the smallish size, I got a batch last year and had to sort through them for fishing worms but they did catch fish. I put the small ones in a compost pile and I haven't found any yet this spring. I ordered again this year and they were supposed to ship last monday but...

    73 6hp Seahorse Issues

You mentioned bottom plug being milky looking like water and oil mix, I had an old 85 HP mercury that did the same thing on the bottom cylinder , The crankshaft seal on the motor was in bad shape and water would get in the bottom of the motor. I ran mine that way and never did anything with...

    Fresh water for the camper

Of all the things that have been invented over the years why haven't any chemists came up with a "solution'' ? Add a gallon to every 50 gallons of water .

    Raise maggots!!!

It all looks good on the web but they leave out the details. One time I had this great idea to raise waxworms in my basement , It didn't last long, They stunk worse than billygoats.

    Leaders for LeadCore

That's what I do too , The cheap wire hooks are nice in this case , A lot of times they straighten out and away you go.

    Leaders for LeadCore

I use a small Barrel swivel with a trilene knot on both ends. I know it isn't "proper" but it works for me and it's fast. Might even win a tug of war in it's weight class. EDIT I just checked , I take another shortcut AKA improved clinch knot.

    73 6hp Seahorse Issues

Without knowing details or seeing the motor my first guess would be the bottom seal is out on the power head . It's the bottom cylinder ? And does the motor sit low in the water ?

    Goodbye

Why not give the guy a chance to pick himself up and brush the dust off rather than keep throwing salt in the wound.

I chuckle every time I see that picture , I think it's awesome , Something Norman Rockwell would have thought of.

    Food for the boat

This will be my second year in my restored 1980s 28' Sea Ray. We stock the cupboards freezer and fridge with goodies just like you would a camper and have a cook top in the galley and a grill out on the rear deck. We go a few days at a time and do most of our cooking and make coffee at...

    top soil erosion?

Eyexer , It's as rare as a drought then you will have dust to eat along with those words, Wheres the sarcasm button ? But I do believe the dry windy days of the 30's can and will come back to haunt us again someday, I'm as sure about that as I am we will get another snow blizzard...

    Large Smelt the Pike Fishermen

My Dad was an old time smelt fishermen and he always bought "giant rainbow" smelt and soaked them in salt water to make them tough. He used big 6'' Norwegian hooks and sometimes caught 2 or 3 fish with the same smelt till it looked like a rag doll. I always wanted a new smelt so he would...

    Goodbye

Sportsman , No idea what happened but in my opinion if you were not out of line your best bet is to stick up for yourself and fight fire with fire. if someone stomps on your toes they quit when you stomp back and 9 times out of 10 you both go your own ways with no more problem. Take it for...
