    What a Zander!!!

Yeah these are just wise tales, but none the less it would be cool and freaky scary to see one up close in personal. I couldn't imagine some big pike bumping into you in that murky water gives me the hibby jibbys just thinking about it.

    What a Zander!!!

I remember hearing stories of divers inspecting the garrison dam and seeing large slender bodies of fish swimming by, has anyone else heard of such tales. I believe it to be northern pike or musky, unless there is a picture no truth in the story.

    top soil erosion?

Thanks for the input in cover crop and no till farming. I was curious about when the water table drops and thus less moisture in the top soil, will no till keep the ground from breaking up causing large voids so big you could drop a screw driver in them and never see it again. I know this is...

    top soil erosion?

That is what I call the soil up near my home town. Just like sand when it rains it turns into a hard packed crust. Stuff is real pain to plant vegetables in the garden, because when you water the garden and you have to work the soil up or ends pushing up carrots, radishes, beets or onions...

    top soil erosion?

Where do you see cover crop used on no till farming? I have not seen cover crop used other than being planted because too wet to plant. I am talking about Devils Lake Basin and northeast north dakota, where land can be anywhere from loam, heavy clay and some black sand. Deerwatcher has a point...

    top soil erosion?

Stutsman county is hilly land with a soil composition of a silty loam soil which it turn does benefit from no till, but I have my doubts as to your claims to less chemicals. Unless you grow nothing but soybeans and corn which does needs less work to produce good crop return. Also with the...

What I hate most about shore fishing is......

LOL the hmongs are not that bad to fish by as long as you have an agreement to how close they can be to you. I shore fish most of the time during the summer and have had many pleasant experiences with these folk. Boat fisherman dropping anchor in my fishing area make me a little more...

    Moon Phases and Walleye

Well said Sub_ELect, pressure also affects the fish in different depths as well as wind direction even when on the ice. The guides use the pressure as well; they adjust the depth of locating fish in reference to the pressure. Sunny, cloudy, rainy, or bitter cold it doesn’t matter if the pressure...

    Moon Phases and Walleye

Moon phase and barometric pressure are the two most important assets I use when ice fishing. I have it figured out most days but sometimes it doesn't matter. I was taught how read the moon phase and barometric pressure by my grand father and I can testify that it does work. That fishing chart...

    Mosquito control

The Mosquito 86 The Mosquito 86 System that I tested recently is my weapon of choice against these disease-carrying blood suckers. It uses a solution known as Agent E that you mix with water and carry in a small tank as a backpack. The delivery system channels the solution in the tank through...

    Devils Lake folks

Then who will pull me out when I get hung up on a pressure ridge out in the middle of know where. Lol Enslow and his gang of minuteman protecting our north dakota wildlife. Just pulling your chain I think we need to have a designated member post on other fish websites and tell them there are NO...
