    dirt/field prep for trees?

I have an acre and half SE of bismarck and planted trees in 2016. I went with black hills spruce, freeman maples and lilacs. Some of the maples died off and i replaced with Amur maples, since then i haven't lost any trees, other than to the rabbits. I put down fabric, but did nothing with the...

    Got my flag up-questions

i've had the cheaper ones from menards/harbor frieght too. not much you can do with them. I've heard of puting quickcrete in the pipe, but never did it myself. Now i have one of the 5' wooden flag poles screwed to the front porch. Pretty windy where i am, so the brackets they come with don't...

    Case cleaning- reloading

I use the corn media with flitz metal polish in it. vibratory tumbler. I tried using the sonic cleaner several years ago and was very disappointed. I guess I've never had media stuck in the case or primer pockets that I couldn't clean out. I've also found that cleaning the cases with the old...

    Electrical Question

This! I've always said that if you do your own plumbing, you'll can flood your house, you do your own HVAC, you'll have a room too hot or too cold. Do you own electrical, you could blow up. Leave it to someone that does it for a living.

    Dig your own water well?

Was thinking about it when we first installed the well, but opted not to because we are always watering with at least 2 sprinklers. If i had an underground sprinkler system i would have pressure tank and switch, but since i only have regular sprinklers and no actual plumbing connected to the well...

    Dig your own water well?

yea 4" cased. i only use the water for irrigating the lawn, so i didn't bother testing it. I am in the Soo Aquifer, and there are irrigation pivots watering quarter sections north and south of me so i didn't see a need to test. I have a 2-1/4 HP pump, capable of about 200 feet of head. I didn't...

Anyone regret going from aluminum hull to glass hull?

I went from a 1785 Yar single console down to a pro angler 16 lund tiller. I mostly fish the river around bismarck, sometimes will head to Oahe or Sak. I probably miss the dryness most out of anything. My lund is wider and heavier than the yarcraft was, so i can't really tell roughness from the...

    String Trimmers

I know you bought your trimmer already but i've got a Stihl FS 55, going on 7 years now. Had to do my first bit of maintenance this spring.. new spark plug. Uses the orange 0.095 gauge line so better against walls, rocks, fencing, etc. no regrets buying it back then for $200.

    Zero Turn Recommendation

i bought a used John Deere last fall, only a 42" with a 20 HP briggs motor. So far it works well, i bought it used with 90 hours on it. It is the smallest size residential model, but so far has worked well for what i need. When i bought mine, i was looking exclusively for JD, Toro or Exmark.

    Boat insurance

Good deal! I didn't have it on my last several boats, because they were $1,000 junkers, but as other mentioned, its more about damage to others. Another thing to consider on your insurance is what you have in your boat if something were to happen, and you were to loose everything in it. Rods...
