Good point Allen...just in case!

Yup...had to change one of the signal lights on the trailer and fill both tires. Greased the jack on the front as well.
Planning to take out the boat Saturday for the first time this year. Do you guys have a list of "what to watch for" the first few times out when you start a new boating season? Will start the big motor and check all electronics along with the trolling motor before I leave the house. Thanks gents...
Rarely keep a fish over 20...any time of the year. That being said, I have zero problem with peeps keeping the 5 fish daily limit of walleye regardless of gender or time of year.
Reel with left...cast/set hook with right. H82 made a good point above...sometimes jig with 2 rods, but usually miss fish if I try to hook set with left hand!
Boat prep weekend for me...gotta charge/install batteries, jack trailer to check tires/hubs, check lights, hook up the ear muffs and start the motor. Just don't want any "surprises" on the water next weekend!
Might run down to 3 Mile Corner Saturday...see if I can shore fish the NE bay. Was kinda thinking Easter weekend might be the soonest to actually get a boat out...other than on the river of course!
Darling and Audubon shores opening up, but even with the predicted temps closing in on 70 over the next week or so, when can we realistically expect to be able to get our boats on the lakes?
The river is open below the dam at Lake Darling, was up there last weekend and caught 3 walleye. There are numerous places along the Souris River you can fish until the lakes open up for boats.
Agreed...also believe 3 Mile
Corner and the cabin ramp offer good protection from wind to launch and recover. Yes, need to study a contour map of the target area...for sure!
If you are an inexperienced boater best to wait a few weeks until Darling and Audubon open up. If possible take an experienced boater with you the first few times until you get comfortable loading/unloading the boat. Even if this is not the first boat you've owned take your time getting to know...
