    Hunting with the mrs

    My wife comes out on the boat with me pretty regularly. She baits her own hook, works the net to perfection, and this year has started taking fish off the hook herself. Cannot get her to come out on the ice...she is a Seattle gal, so doesn't mind the cool/damp but can't stand the hard freeze!

    November 10th for me last year...remember October being good for walter last year. Seemed fishing was pretty good last year almost to ice up.

    Was on Audubon this morning before 8...water temps 58 to 60. Caught 4 eyes and 2 nice perch all before 10...on a jig/minnow set up. Switched to spinner/crawler set up about 11...had some hits but didn't boat anything. Are we at the end of spinner/crawler season???

    Welcome WYFly...have you fished in the Blackhills? The wife and I have visited multiple times...only had spinning gear along, but boy the streams/creeks are full of brook/brown/rainbow trout. Lots of smaller lakes too that seemed like prime fly fishing spots...neat place to fish. Really target...

    Was planning to run the new ducer that comes with the unit to the trolling motor? Captain...if you have a better suggestion please proceed...I've never swapped out fish finders before so any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

    Ordered this discontinued Lowrance model yesterday...Gander Mt. had them for $269 with a $50 rebate on top. Plan to put it on the bow...transducer on the trolling motor...will be an upgrade for the bow unit I currently have. Just wondered if anyone has any insight on this particular Lowrance...

    Yea...maybe I jinxed us with this post yesterday! I got out on Audubon this morning...stuck to the north shore...managed 4 eyes and a perch. Winds had probably gotten up over 20 with gusts when I got off the water.

    Don't want to jinx us, but today, tomorrow, and Sunday looking pretty good. Heading to Sak tonight and early tomorrow morning. Planning to fish between Douglas Creek and the embankment on the north shore. Looks like winds are forecasted to be mostly out of the northwest...nothing above 20mph...
