    College debt~

Schmaltz, I could not agree more. I have always been an advocate that before going to college for a degree, young people should work in the field they want to pursue a degree in. I had a hard time with "Briefcase Experts". Nice suits, slick presentations, and not a clue what they were talking...

    Dipsy Divers for Walleyes

Snubbers save tackle with hard hitting fish like trout and salmon. Set drag so you hear a click every couple minutes. Lost a bunch of lures first day before I figured that one out.

Recently lost two off shore clips in one day, one shook of right at the boat. Had another one at the fish's mouth, slid 50' but did not come off. Have not tried Scheels brand but will give them a try.

50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions

John R, volcanic eruptions while brief may over a very short term exceed amounts emitted by man they do not exceed man's annual inputs of CO2. From the U.S.G.S.: https://www.climate.gov/news-features/climate-qa/which-emits-more-carbon-dioxide-volcanoes-or-human-activities

    Corner jumping court case.

It would be interesting if someone rented a chopper to fly in and hunt these areas. Air rights have limitations. No case could be filed.

50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions

sl1000794, Ice is less dense than liquid water, this is why it floats. Sea level rise in countries like Bangladesh come to mind as well as some island communities on the east coast of the U.S. You are correct, tides can vary by season. Some areas see extreme tides like the Bay of Fundy...

50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions

As I read this the global cooling was incorrect. Types of certain pollutants have decreased, for example : acid rain, ozone hole come to mind these due to regulatory actions. Sea levels have risen causing impacts to some countries. Arctic sea ice has decreased not necessarily extents, but...

    Piping Mississippi River water west

Allen Great Lakes Compact is an international treaty no strictly within the states. SL, yes the ice floating in the Arctic Ocean would not change as it is floating. Greenland ice sheet and Antarctic ice sheets are on land. Now lets all go fishing and enjoy iced beer.

    Piping Mississippi River water west

SL Ocean level rise is two fold, unusually rapid ice melt globally, and warmer water occupies a larger volume. Measure it has a point. The southwest has seen enormous population growth since the seventies. Water decisions in this part of the country were made based on "current" conditions. This...

    Too many deer

Allen has good points may I also add time to go hunting, fewer people have the time to go hunting, we are not all farmers. Another is cost. A friend pointed out is is far less costly to buy food than to go out and kill and process it. Calculate the per pound cost of your fish and see whether it...

    Too many deer

PG, Yes targeted harvest by sharpshooters does occur in suburban parks where there is less likely hood of damage/injury to private citizens. This however does not significantly impact the overall size of the herds. They do this in the municipal parks where I come from. Meat is donated to the...

    Too many deer

Liberalism has very little to do do with the increase in deer populations. Suburban sprawl has more to do with the problem. As developers push further into previous rural areas it becomes difficult if not impossible to safely hunt deer.
