    Cleaning them properly makes a huge difference, if you leave any of that tan colored meat on the fillets it ruins the flavor...but I agree, they don't taste like lobster.

    yeah, I have had days when them sum beeches will follow shit around all day but never take a swing until I downsize or change to a lighter clear leader.

    I use 20 to 30# fluoro for finicky clear water pike and check it for damage after each fish. If all I'm casting for is pike and they're biting real aggressive and the water isn't too clear I just use wire.

    This is how you know your fish is fresh! also notice all that red meat on the fillet, if you don't cut every single bit of that off it will completely ruin the flavor, and it will be even worse if you freeze the fillets with any of that meat attached...

    Pike, hands down better tasting, but only if handled and cleaned properly. Walleye only has the advantage because theyre easy to clean, and virtually impossible to clean incorrectly to ruin the flavor.

    Ive got some work to do to my boat trailer and need my boat off it for a week or two. Can i rent a spot at ft stevenson or sak state park to tie my boat up til my trailers done? Or do you guys have any other suggestions for a way to get my boat off the trailer for a week or two.
