    my old man shot a .243 for deer forever. I've never seen anybody make so many single shot/kill shots in my life. it's totally about the shooter. If your a piss poor shot then by all means get the biggest cannon you can handle shooting.

    Garmin seems to be positioning themselves to take a much bigger chunk of the marketplace. I don't think you can go wrong with the garmin's unless your one of those that obsess with these units. Feel the need to record every second of fishing and load it to your computer and drool over it all...

    243 is a great all around gun for these parts. plenty of gun for deer and very good for varmints. very little recoil as is.

    Ariats are good. But I have a pair of Corral boots that are amazing. Softest leather I've ever worn. Tony Lama's are awesome too. Most is about fit so try some of the top boots on and see how they fit.
