    AZ Game and Fish had a "program" sponsored by Barnes/Hornady with copper bullets. It was in the California Condor flight areas. The idea was to see if the Condor die off was slowed by copper bullets instead of lead cored bullets. I used 130gr Barnes in my 270 and shot 7 elk with no problems...

    .243 for Mule Deer?

    I've killed coyotes, bobcats, a lion, deer, antelope and 1 elk with a 243 so far. With the right bullet, some practice shooting and waiting for a "good" shot your 243 will kill a mule deer with no problem
