Deep Fried or Pan fry Walleye........

In the pan if its for a small group, in a fry daddy if I am feeding a bunch of walleye freeloaders. The trick is to get the oil hot enough before you put the fish in. 325 to 350 or hotter. I usually cut them into about bit sized pieces when I deep fry, they tend to not fall apart under their own...

    Dish Tailgater

Mrs johnr is picking up a tailgater for the RV, my question is as far as mounting them. You guys that have them, do you just place it on top of your camper, on the ground next to the camper, or do you somehow secure it to the camper? We season park so it doesn't need to be secured for any sort...

    What's in your garden?

Salsa garden for 15 years now. We also plant some lettuce, carrots, peas, and have a strawberry patch, and asparagus patch (took 3 years to establish) Fresh tomato with my farm fresh bacon is about the best BLTs and summer food a guy can whip up on a hot summer night.

    making spinners

Bead color is of little significance. Go to walmarts craft section and pick up a big bag of white or clear beads for one tenth the price you pay for your "fishing" beads. Its spinner color that makes or breaks a day of fishing, and using the quick change blade holders means you can change colors...

    Yeti Colster

While camping this weekend, a buddy caught a nice 28 inch eye, but that's not the story. He had a Yeti mug of some sorts that he claimed held his ice through 3 mixed drinks, and still had ice in it the next morning. Was a pretty nice cup, but he said it cost around $40, guess with an ice maker...

    smoking

I was at a state dart tournament this last winter in Minot, we made a night of it the first night, at around 3 in the a.m. some random character shows up in our group caring around a brick of home smoked cheese and a bag of pretzels. It tasted as if he had rolled the cheese directly in the...

Possible new state record bluegill ?

was a very knowledgeable character, but wow was he condescending - - - Updated - - - I am sure he is happy I haven't been on the site for a month now, he doesn't need to lecture me on my evil conservative ways. This very avatar that I have on my profile right now got me flagged, and a PM was...

    tags on fish

I would guess I have fished as much as any obsessive fisherman, and I have never caught a tagged fish. I hunt pheasants likely 30 times a season or more, I have never shot a banded bird either. I was once pulled over for speeding and didn't get a ticket though, so I have that going for me on my...

    Can Cookers

My oldest daughter bought us one for Christmas, used it once on a roast, potato's, carrots, and mushrooms. Was a great meal, however not a real difference between that and a crockpot IMHO

    410 shotgun

I also picked up a .410 a couple years back, thing kicked like a mule. My daughter would cry after shooting it. I purchased a stock recoil pad for it that cost almost as much as the gun, it still has a strong kick but is mostly absorbed into the pad. Looking back I wish I would not have picked...

Possible new state record bluegill ?

There was another fella that always had a boner for the snopes deal on the email cut and paste stories that I would occasionally post. In fact some of my cut and paste posts ended up turning an otherwise stanch conservative into a left leaning tree hugging effing liberal, so much so that he...

    Water Temps

This time of year we always find most of the fish in the bays, warmer water, and 4-8 fow. Minnows seem to work the best, but crawlers or leeches sometimes work too. jig structure, points, rocky areas. hope the water temp is in that 50* + range by Friday. Haven't fished the big girl since this...
