    I agree with DI's concept and understand the frustration but believe $300 to be excessive. Perhaps game check stations with a trophy fee for eastern style tine count. Not saying this is the solution, just tossing off. This would not apply to youth.

    I want to add I believe a 6in or better bbl .357 would be a fine deer rig for inside of 50yds. Ol boy's gun had the eight in. The energy inadequacy I spoke of in my OP was for 100. I'm probably not giving it enough credit as one day we shot some hot 180 stuff which actually became unpleasant...
