    Bis to lose boat ramp

I would think the same funding sources they planned on using for the existing plan. FALF may be a non-profit, but they aren't without resources. Someone, somewhere, had to somehow justify FALF's involvement. I've got to imagine it was done using a "this will boost revenue by X amount"...

    Bis to lose boat ramp

I would disagree with this. Directly NW of Dakota Zoo and out by the city's under-the-river water intake would be better suited since it's a blank canvas. All you need to do is dredge to form an off-river channel/beach and use that material to raise the grade to build a parking lot. All the...

    Bis to lose boat ramp

Just curious, and maybe you don't know the answer to this. But if the hotel, amphitheater, beach and pier are longshots to take place. What exactly does that leave this river development with for assets? A bridge, a parking lot and a boardwalk? Doesn't seem to me there's any income...

    Bis to lose boat ramp

Right, I tend to pay attention to what's going on with rivers and other bodies of water, yet this caught me by surprise. I get it, I don't watch a lot of local TV (ok, almost none), but those who propose these types of projects have it incumbent on them to not make people feel blindsided...

If this ever happens again in the future, might I suggest firing up an old arc welder? Crank it up to full heat and let some sparks fly. That way you have an electric scar to point a finger at.

    You ever go smeltin?

Fresh smelt are not that bad. We ate them every year for quite a few years when I was young. Like mentioned above, lots of local bars and sporting clubs held a smelt fry every spring. That being said, I haven't eaten a smelt in 30-some years. Can't say that I miss them, or Rocky Mountain...

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say if you like the variety you have, all you need to do to revive the plot is to abuse the hell out of it. Basically, a strawberry plant loses vigor with age, even though they are perennials. To combat plant fatigue, go in and rip out half of your strawberry plants every year to establish...

We can all relatively safely bet that the cap will go up. Betting on how much it will go up gets riskier and riskier when expecting large jumps. Here's the history of salary cap numbers: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cba/ Look, one may not agree with my take on the risk of paying one...

No shit I don't know what the cap will be. Neither do you, or the Vikings for that matter.

For every highly successful QB drafted in the first round, there are multiple flameouts. Not sure as a Viking follower I like our odds on that. It'd be great if McCarthy works out long-term, but I don't think I'd bet the farm on it.

Feel free to knock yourself out on that little exercise. There have been some great wide receivers in the league over the years, I can't think of a team that was led by a single wide receiver to the Super Bowl. This isn't a 10 year deal, in year #4...he will still be commanding an outsized...

Nah, it's not to catch a football. It's to sink an organization. One should not tie that much of the salary cap to a single WR. Dumb...

    Anti-Hunting Group Buying Hunt

Right, the reality is the U.S. is now in need of heavy crude for making tar, gear lube and other heavy oils. Bakken sweet crude is great for making gasoline, but not so much if your business plan at the refinery is for making tar. Every refinery was built with the intention of taking advantage...

    Venison Ribs

When I was younger, I kept or salvaged all the meat off of venison ribs for use in burger/sausage. What I always thought the problem with deer ribs was the fat. It was OK when the ribs were fresh out of the smoker/oven, but as they cool...nobody ever says how much they enjoy the fatty portion...

    Runnings buys H o E

Of all the potential buyers of HOE, Runnings is about the closest in "feel" as one might hope for. TSC? Yeah, no! It may not be a big negative. At one time I frequented a HOE often when it pertained to the outdoors and tires/batteries/odd candy.

    Bubba or Rapala knife?

Electric? It's all Rapala for me going on the last 20-some years. I am still running the same 110V rapala I picked up only because of a big sale. Must be 8+ sets of blades later and the trigger is getting sticky. I've had occasion to try the Bubba and a couple other electrics and if...
