    It worked today not very often you get adult snows to dump in. Had them landing right were we wanted shooting wasn’t the best but we had a blast.

    Out walking the dog this morning before I had to go to work and could hear non stop specks. Paving on weekends in October should be illegal.

    I would like to buy a slough ground and turn it into a tech pond for dog training. Even finding that is tough down here.

    I know delta is paying farmers to plant winter wheat and leave it till after the hatch as pintails love that for nesting.

    The way they justify it is the amount of hunters is way less than we have in the United States. So in theory they should affect the population the same as us but I don’t know if I buy it. They would have shut pintails down this year if we wouldn’t have got the wet spring. We were really close...

    Regionally I feel they are up but it’s based on national population. I would say Canada blasting 8 ducks of any kind is a bigger problem. The pintails ending up in Russia are part of the pacific flyway so doesn’t really affect the central flyway.

    I want just enough to move the birds down. Then nice enough to keep the water open till season is over. Then pile the snow up for next spring and sheet water in the spring for snow geese and full ponds.

    Stay in the room crying like a baby till they take their last breath. No way I could shoot one to many things to go wrong and that’s something that would haunt me. The saying the cost of a good bird dog is a broken heart is a fact.

    Covered up in pintails had to pick and choose mallards out of the big wads. A few specks showing up but didn’t want to play.

    I don’t think they shine any more than full bodies also think shine is over thought look how shiny birds are with the natural oil on their feathers either way the fully flocked cure any shine. I dont think people do a good enough job hiding and dont realize that shadows off the blinds or trails...
