    Prairie dog hunting

Probably about 200 yards. Longest was like 380-something. Shortest was under 50. We're more into seeing how much splatter we can produce vs how far away we can get a hit.

    Prairie dog hunting

The 22-250 with 53 v-max and 243 with 58 v-max did not disappoint this weekend. Went through over a hundred rounds of each. A tripod is a game changer for field shooting.

Drew A New Mexico Oryx Tag

What's this newfangled "Nosler Partition"? Sounds like a gimmick. Great grandpappy used a round ball out of a smooth bore musket and it killed just fine.

I also prefer a copper bullet for critters I'm going to eat. I've had success with Barnes TSX, TTSX, and LRX. That said, I recently stumbled upon Badlands Bullets, and am going to give them a try. Made in Yankton SD. Yeah, they're pricy, but so are Barnes. You should be able to run the...

    Parallax Adjustment

Get a VX-5HD with side parallax and CDS elevation dial. Leave the parallax set at 100 yards. If you're taking a 400+ yard shot on elk, odds are you have time to dial it in for the best picture when the time comes. And if you carry it around with it set at 100, you won't have a problem with any...

Nice machine. Looks a lot like my Gravely, which is owned by Ariens. Probably just a different shade of paint and some badging.

NDA Ammo and Reloading Component TRADE thread

Thanks. I still have a couple thousand, so I'm not that desperate. I've been resisting the urge to horde, hoping others do the same and prices come down. H4350 has been sitting on the shelf at Scheels for over a week, which is a good sign.

NDA Ammo and Reloading Component TRADE thread

I have a bunch of Reloder 16 (RL16) that I would sell to someone in the FM area, or maybe trade for CCI or Winchester large rifle primers.

Shoot with a buddy. Sometimes watching the carnage is more fun than pulling the trigger.

Population Explosion of Canadian "Super Pigs" Could Spread Into the Northern U.S.

^^^ Whole Lotta Rosie is one of the greatest rock songs of all time. There is only one God, but if there was two, Angus would be the other one.

They have H4350 on the shelf at Fargo Scheels. I haven't seen that in years. Glad I don't need any. $51 a pound..

    I HATE coyotes!!!!

Sorry, but recreational coyote hunting will never put a serious dent in the population. For every coyote killed, there's probably 2 or 3 that are educated by hunters that don't know what they're doing. Also, thinning out a few just makes it easier for the rest to survive, resulting in larger...

    I HATE coyotes!!!!

However, SD does have an impressive aerial gunning program, financed by the state. They took out over a hundred just around my uncle-in-laws ranch north of Mobridge this winter.

    I HATE coyotes!!!!

I'm.....not..... so sure about that... Current SD hunting handbook (page 77): So you can use a snowmobile to hunt coyotes, but you can't chase them, and you can only shoot from it if it's stationary. Sounds like lawful scenarios are pretty much just transportation to and from hunting spots.

I bought a Gravely ZT HD 60 with Kawasaki motor a few years back. It is awesome, I highly recomend it. ...But looking at current prices, out of your range, especially adding a bagger. Whatever you do, if you can get a Kawasaki motor, do it. I also have a '98 John Deere lawn tractor with a...
