    I've noticed that too in the tagged fish I've caught. One even measured an inch shorter than when it was banded so I don't know how carefully they measure them. I know the last couple I've reported they don't even ask the size and I don't think that's a focus of the study...

    Definitely would be tough to make a go of it on Sak with the boom/bust nature as has been mentioned. Would have to absolutely love it because work would pretty much be your life about no matter where you do it.

    They definitely used to. Haven't been to a weigh in for probably >10 years though, may have changed. Can't imagine the survival rate was great in late July/August.

    I saw the video from the GNF about Oahe crappies that mentions quite a few of the things Dean mentions about year classes, and that most of the time they have a hard time making it through the winter. I can't remember if they said why that is exactly. They do well in northern MN and Ontario...

    Have seen geese & ducks land on rooftops a few times in the Twin Cities. Saw a pair of geese land in a tree along the Missouri a couple times a few years ago.

    Was out in my yard a couple evenings ago and heard a wood duck call. Sure enough, looked up in the big elm tree in my yard and had a pair of them sitting there. I live about half a mile SE of the capitol building in Bismarck, can't think of any real water near me so that was different.
