    Possible rolling blackouts

If the water line comes up on the outside of the house, there is probably a valve right before it enters the house. I am guessing that's where the problem lies, the valve is not below grade. Thus it freezes and breaks. There is probably also a curbstop somewhere between the house and the...

    Possible rolling blackouts

I believe some of the problems with the water lines comes from they often build a house on slab, and then run the water line up to the side of the house and the water line enters the house through the wall on the first floor, not through the basement like we do in ND.

No more messing with the clock in North Dakota

I am pretty sure the time zones were originally set by the railroads when we weren't states, at least, not all of those listed were states.

    Rod Tips

I have a couple rods that have replacement tips or eyes. They are now my least favorite to fish with, those replacements just detract from any other redeeming quality the rod/reel may possess.

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

Easy now, I've done both over the years and actually continue to do both. We all know you have a hard-on for public servants, but I'm generally inclined to call out BS sound bites that are factually wrong. - - - Updated - - - Speaking of which, we all know this movie is fiction, right? It's...

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

Having pretty good faith in the peer review process makes me think it goes uncovered an awful lot less than agricultural fraud. I only know of a couple USDA agents who investigate ag fraud in ND, but know there are literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of scientists who participate...

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

How the eff did you reach that BS conclusion when it was only by the peer review process that the fraudulent data was uncovered?

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

This is so unfortunate. A good friend of mine that was a scientist with a ND state agency uncovered one of his peers at the same agency falsifying data (ok, he downright fabricated shit to support his hypothesis) and got busted by my friend Bill in the peer review process. Things simply didn't...

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

As a classically trained scientist, may I also suggest tossing in some experiments with cheap women and fine whiskey? The results might be surprising.

    Sakakawea Water Level 2020

Please keep in mind that this is kind of out of my area of expertise, but I do rub elbows with the experts on a regular basis. Anyway, my understanding is that any time you go out past about a week and even moreso as you go into 3 week, or month, or seasonal outlooks, those are long range...

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

Oh, scientists are human and subject to predisposed notions as such, but we still have to support our positions that had better jive with the vast majority of our peers. Otherwise it won't get published in respectable journals and we are left to just putting our stuff on Facebook. Papers get...

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

LOL, I get it all the time. Most of the time it's just because I'm not important enough for people to remember me, or they are that good at throwing shade. I sat and reworded that passage several times trying to figure out how to dissociate you from the consulting and academic herd. Then just...

Current thoughts on the covid vaccine???

While I, as a scientist, would agree that there are unscrupulous people in the scientific field, much like any other field, I take great offense with such a broad characterization of the morals of the scientific community. In particular, most govt scientists are supported by the taxpayer through...

    Sakakawea Water Level 2020

Well. we can certainly hope that comes to pass. On the other hand, if drought continues into late May or early June, we will see an awful lot of crop failures and missing native forage. Farmers and ranchers do not have the robust soil moisture at depth that last spring had. So even if crops...
