    Brush Gun

Brush guns are for those a-holes out east of the Red that take "sound" shots. The pure astonishment I had at such a concept when I first heard about it is impossible to relay to you all. W... T.. F...?

    Verado issues

With all those new fancy seats, it's not that surprising that people will push a boat to its limit and damage the hull. Back when I lived in GF, I knew of a couple Crestliners with crushed hulls from running too fast on DL. More recently, I know a guy who crushed a Ranger hull (aluminum) a...

    Fiberglass boats

You can't drive down to most of the shoreline in a vehicle and park a camper, or set up a tent. You can do it if you choose to boat to an area and tent it (I think), but that's a lot less appealing to most. Including me. Back in the 70s and 80s, Little Knife Bay area all the way over to the...

These have been around for years now, probably not a common round, but they have been around for some time. Lethal as all hell!

    It's hot

Not around my area. I was a little surprised yesterday when I ran across a grasshopper. Just one, and I only walked a few hundred yards, but it don't look good by Bismarck. - - - Updated - - - p.s. And there sure as hell is no dew around here this year.

    Fiberglass boats

To each their own, but having grown up camping on the shores of Sak in the New Town area where we would leave the boats beached overnight, through storms, etc for weekend's at a time, there is a real difference in wear on a glass hull when compared to the aluminum hulls. If you are able to...

    Smart thermostat

Mehh, mine have always run on batteries. They last so long that you even forget they are battery operated. On my existing thermostat, I've changed them twice in nine years.

    Fiberglass boats

Beaching on gravel/rocky shorelines. It's why I bought aluminum, and then the Corps stopped allowing people to camp on the shores of Sak. If/when I buy another, it will likely be glass.

    Help Propping 200 V6 Merc on Tri-Toon

I have a tritoon with a 150 Merc 4S on it. It came from the dealership (River City here in Bismarck) with an Enertia prop on it and they seemed really high on using Enertia props for toons. I'm generally pretty happy with it with one small exception. On takeoff it seems to grab a bunch of air...

    Shelter Belts

Hell, the damn willows and poplars I have just grow out of what we would ordinarily call deadfall. Phucking amazing at how trees start grow out of my fresh cut firewood.

    Shelter Belts

One thing about cedars is that they are a host to cedar-apple rust. If you have juneberries within a half mile of them, it really effs up the juneberry harvest. The berries dry up and become inedible.

    91 Octane, ethanol free...

I don't recall the schedule, but every gas pump out there has a seal on it that is dated for when it was last inspected. If the seal is broken, the operator of that station had better have a damn good reason for it. Same thing goes for what's in the tank. The state takes licensing of those...

    NDGF: Steinwand Retiring

Take it from me, I've belonged to a number of groups that often get a bad rap because of the bad apples in their midst. Some being U.S. Marine, college student, farmer/rancher, landowner, govt employee, teacher, white male, hunter, angler, and ????. Bottom line though is that I learned a long...

Willows and cottonwoods/poplars would do well in most slough settings, so long as they aren't routinely in water itself for more than a couple weeks out of the year.

    Help!! 1998 Johnson 175 FICHT

I'd replace the fuel line. You can usually find a manufacturer specific fuel line and bulb for less than $50. I've had this problem a time or two.

    NDGF: Steinwand Retiring

In the handful of business courses I took, I always got the impression a "good businessman" is always striving to maximize the return on their investment. Perhaps a GREAT businessman who is in the business of farming can do that while shrinking his tillable acreage. :;:huh

    NDGF: Steinwand Retiring

Define for me "improving the land". Does that include tree row removal, tilling the riparian areas, wetland and tile drains, breaking up of native prairie? All of these increase the ag value of your land while lowering the hunting/conservation value. I'm not saying there aren't landowners...
