    One ear hearing protect?

Hah hah, I've probably had my ears rung way more times while waterfowling than anything else. But I have this friend with a 300 Win Mag that I used to hunt with, SOB if that thing wasn't loud. He left my ears ringing a time or two!

    One ear hearing protect?

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but accuracy counts. I have one WT buck tag and one Any Antelope tag this year. I'm reasonably optimistic that's only twice I will have to hear my rifles bark without hearing protection. Ok, ok...so maybe 3 times. As far as birds, once again I am just...

    One ear hearing protect?

I don't shoot enough when hunting to worry about hearing protection. That being said, I did pick up some electronic hearing protection ear muffs last year. I kinda liked them when sitting in the blind as I could use them as sound magnifiers and directional sonar for hearing deer movement in...

Andrew, I think the lesson here is that cabin fever in March is a real thing.

    Salmon on top?

Hmm, I am pretty sure it was still a few weeks ahead of the big spawn run. Cheese? I have never heard of using cheese outside of chasing catfish. Who woulda thunk… Still curious as to what they are doing/eating when I see them swirling at the surface. It doesn't exactly seem like fly...

    Salmon on top?

So I was sitting here reading some of the salmon reports and something struck me. A couple years ago I took the kids out on the pontoon to throw lures at salmon in the shallows. This would have been pretty early in Sept and the salmon were rolling around in less than 30 ft of water at the top...

So what's next south china sea?

China already has Hong Kong, the Brits gave it back to them quite a few years ago. Only it was under semi-autonomous rule. The commies are simply imposing their will on them. Taiwan is a bit different. China claims ownership of them and says they are a runaway province and not their own...

SLE is correct, at least on the 11-13 yr old's tags. I'll figure out the 14 yr old rules next year.

    Drywall Finishing

Note, some tape and texture people are really finicky about doing the work on owner-installed sheetrock. Reason for this is because they are concerned that if you didn't hang the sheetrock correctly, you will blame them if the seams crack, etc. You should alternate seams when hanging sheetrock...

    Towing question

Much like SDMF, I also own an F250 diesel. Why? Because I damn well want to. For years I drove half ton pickups, and I beat the living crap out of them because I was often up against or slightly above the max towing and/or hauling capacities. Now I drive a 3/4 ton and still tow/haul the same...

https://eideford.com/sale/used-ford-f150-xlt-bismarck-nd/2018-ford-f150-xlt-1ftex1ep7jkd81364 Oh yeah, the 2WD versions are common fleet vehicles being used for parts delivery. NAPA etc. They don't see any off-roading, but need the bed space.

    Voles?

Meh, I've use them all. The plastic snap traps have their issues as well. I've had mice lick those bastards clean without getting killed.'' The ones I like the best are...

What exactly are you wondering about? Are you curious as to why you give a shit about what anyone else drives? Because, I am.

    RV roof winter maintenance.

Isn't mouse-proofing a camper kind of a fool's errand? One of the easiest places for them to gain access is right up the front jacks on a fifth wheeler. They lead right into the front storage on mine and I know darn well mice can climb those jacks.

    Early Fall?

Seems like we're right on track at my place. Doesn't mean I am prepared for it though, summer is just too damn short around here when it starts in June.

    Archery Mule Deer

On cooler mornings you will tend to see the mule deer on east or south facing slopes. As the day wears on and heats up, start concentrating more on the shaded slopes. Mule deer are peculiar critters. I've watched them bed down only for me to get there after an hour long sneak to find an...

    Anyone power wash their sidewalk?

Shale is a very common stone in our run of the mill gravel pits. I don't know of any quarries in ND that harvest igneous rocks and crush it, all of the gravel in ND is simply mined and size sorted by screening. Airport runways and other high value infrastructure often use aggregate that is...

    RV roof winter maintenance.

Thirsty, not hot. I like to use mothballs, but those SOB are really smelly. If you use them to keep the mice away, and they REALLY do work, I suggest placing them on a small piece of cardboard to absorb the liquid phase of the smelly stuff. They will really absorb into anything capable of...
