When I go in for neck adjustment and my good friend Dave in Wahpeton gives my neck a good cracking I wiggle my fingers and toes and tell him I am just checking he didn't break my neck. Pisses him off but funny.
The laser type surgery is out I take it. My dad had way to many lower back surgery so I kind of know what your going through. Wish you well and a speedy recovery.

I have loaded elk meat so heavy that if I sat down, even on a chair high rock the other guys had to help me get on my feet. Once on my feet I was good to go. Glad it was usually down hill. You don't feel that until the next day when the back of your legs fall off.
We can get in great physical shape but the altitude is what does in us flatlanders, just not enough oxygen in that thin shit. I know, been there at 11,000 ft and gapping like a dam catfish out of water.
Have packed more than one elk out of the mountains. If I would ever do it again I would take a large cast iron skillet with and just set down and eat him.
