    Barnes TTSX bullets

I've watched 20-some deer get hit with either a TSX or TTSX from 7 mm Rem and 25-06 rifles. Only one was a problem, all the rest went no more than 50 yds before piling up. I've also only recovered 3 of the rounds from a dead animal. As you might imagine, they were all recovered because they...

    Badlands mule deer

The first tags now come at age 11 and for ages 11-13 it's doe only. Hence, there are no 11 year olds being the triggerman for dad's dream muley buck hunt in ND. Not legally, anyway. - - - Updated - - - Just curious, but what states do not allow the hunting of deer during the rut?

    Badlands mule deer

For that kind of coin, those Foc King arrows best be heat seeking all while still trophy discerning! - - - Updated - - - I can't imagine sitting at some fancy hunting lodge, period.

    Badlands mule deer

I started deer hunting in 1980. Back then if I shot a 120" 5x5 WT, it was the biggest in the family group of 10 hunters that brought me hunting with them. Hell, just getting a tag was cause for joy. B&C books don't tell the whole story, I know of quite a few deer that I'm reasonably...

    Going elk hunting after all

Shit, I suppose we will just have to make do in the coffee world until you fill your tag. Enjoy the hunt!

    Lasik

Pdogger, talk with your eye doctor about Xiidra. Expensive as hell but it helps with the Lasik induced dry eye. - - - Updated - - - I'm a little suspicious on the they can fix your near vision and distance vision with Lasik. They can do one or the other as far as I know. There are some...

    Turkey Day -- non traditional?

LOL, I guess ham is a traditional T-Day ritual for every Thanksgiving Day dinner I've attended. And here I always thought it was just my natural good looks, superior wit, and humor that set me apart from all you dolts. Guess we have more differences than I originally thought. :;:duel

    Bunghole Class

Surgery. You can come in via the flanks with a relatively small cut, reach up and in and finesse them out. It worked surprisingly well on an elk I shot years ago. I haven't tried it on the much smaller WT or MD, but the principle remains the same. If/when I have to go back to hunting mostly...

    Bunghole Class

I quit splitting the pelvis a couple years ago. Instead, I either cut around and pull it out up through the abdominal cavity, or I just empty the lower intestine by "milking" the pellets out the back end. Either way has proven to be acceptable. I hang the deer by a gambrel through the lower...

    Turkey Day -- non traditional?

I know someone who said they are doing prime rib. And another that is doing meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy. To each their own. I myself will be smoking a couple birds and a ham.

    2.7 Liter Ecoboost F150

I'm getting old. I've had two Fords with the 300 six cylinder (4.9 L) engines and they weren't exactly the most powerful things around so Ford had to use very low gears in those trucks. Now we're talking about 2.7 L engines (165 cubic inch) being the low-end of Ford's offerings in their...

    Boat price negotiation

The problem with buying boats is that you will have a difficult time comparing apples to apples. Boats come setup with different motors, electronics, seats, trailers, covers, etc. It all depends on what that dealership orders in the bells and whistles dept. There are an awful lot of those...

    Boat price negotiation

I'd wait until the sports shows. I think the motor manufacturers tend to give extended warranties as incentive to buy about that time every year. A couple extra years of warranty can be the difference between getting a new powerhead for free, or $9500.

    Trapping Minnows

Rowdie, I believe you can still use a seine if you get a commercial bait vendor's license. At least, we did back in the day. I haven't really kept up on those regs but we caught them and packaged them up for sale during the summer as frozen bait from a friends baitshop.

    RadRover Electric Bike Reviews?

Note, the above and the one in Yoby's post appear to be quite similar, if not the exact same machine. I have no idea how they can be offering them for sale at the price in Yoby's post though. I'd think the battery alone would be at least that much.

    I Never Served

Sacrifice? I never thought of it as a "sacrifice" when I joined the Corps. I did it because I thought I'd be good at it (I was), that I'd enjoy it (for the most part, I did), and because it offered adventures that I couldn't find in ND (that puts it mildly). So here's what I see as the...

    Deer Rut 2018

The mule deer around me were rutting pretty good tonight. Saw a few muley bucks singling out does and following them around. Also saw 3 WT bucks (mature but not great) that were on the prowl, but none were tending any does.
