Snow Pack and Lake Sakakawea Levels

Carp are really easy to seine in ND from late May through late August. We would routinely get 20,000 lbs of them in a single 500 or 750 ft seine. FWIW, we pulled them in by hand and you would be amazed at how rocks, sunken logs, etc just weren't a problem. Think of it this way, if you had a...

    Summer Camping

My camper is heading to the Pasture this weekend up at New Town, hoping the fish are biting and the beer is iced!

    RIP Mauser

Bummer, I was kind of hoping he had just retired from the interweb to spend his days fishing in the Ozarks. RIP Mauser.

    Lets talk 9/11....

Oops, didn't mean to necessarily direct/vent at you specifically. It's more the whole concept that gets me riled up, you have nothing to apologize for, but I owe you one for having to shoulder my rant. Sorry...it was unintentional.

    Lets talk 9/11....

It's not like the fucking geniuses piloting the planes were skilled. They set off red flags earlier in their training because they were only really interested in how to take off. Landing a few feet shy of a runway didn't register very high in their concerns. If, and I say IF anyone in the...

    06-06-1944

While it didn't fully sink in at the time, I had an opportunity as a young kid to spend an afternoon with a doughboy. Wow... Kind of like trying to find a WWII vet nowadays. Several years ago I emceed an event that had a guest speaker from South Dakota named Jack van der Geest. The guy was...

    Roofing contractors

All Seasons did a job for me several years ago. Owner was good to work with, crew left quite a bit of shingle garbage and nails around the perimeter of the house even though I was very adamant about it being cleaned up. I ended up cleaning up an extra pound or so of nails, and half a garbage...

    Frying Oil ???

Dude, soy helps you grow breasts. Therefore, I limit my soy intake to soy sauce at Hu Hot. - - - Updated - - - Big drawback to coconut oil is that it's expensive.

    Frying pan ???

Cast iron and stainless are both quality frying pans depending on what you are doing, searing is great in a cast iron skillet. Scrambled eggs are better done in a stainless skillet. There are some new ceramic coated pans that are FAR SUPERIOR to Teflon. I bought one for the camper and I am...

    HUH that's new

Solar? - - - Updated - - - Interestingly, the odd day of no camping was, I believe, a solution to the oilfield squatters on the WMAs out in the western part of the state. Didn't know they implemented it in the Bismarck area as well.

    Question for you motor heads

Pretty much any modern engine from the big manufacturers should easily go to 200,000 with proper maintenance. What kind of shape is the rest of the vehicle in? Let's see, 83,000/5,000 = 16.6 yrs of engine life by your driving estimate. In short, engine should not be your concern as I think...

    Boots

Absolutely, as far as fit and comfort there's not much better to be had. I have had many pairs of jungle boots that I've used for bow and bird hunting when dry outside! They aren't nearly as good though when you need waterproofing.

    Ali

FWIW, I loved watching the man box when I was a kid, but that doesn't mean I like him as a person. A fair number of people thought prison (or Canada) was safer than going in the service back then. He was a great boxer/entertainer. As far as what he was as a person? I think others have...

    Building a new house

I have a home with a centralized vacuum system built in. I have only used it once, maybe twice. Dragging along 20 ft of hose is less fun than 20 ft of electrical cord. Besides, that's why I have a Lynette.

    North Dakota new to forum

Someone had to ask. Plenty of shit fish lakes in the state, Audubon and eastern Sak for smailies. LM Bass are in the smaller bodies of water. Depending on where you now call home, there should be some near ya.

    length of battery life fishing

You don't need a triple. I run a dual bank to charge the trolling batteries and a single bank to top off the starting battery. All you have to do is run an extension cord under your floor up into the storage compartment where your dual bank is stored, then use a Voila, one cord to plug in...

    Home elliptical machine

Only thing I will suggest is getting one that is quiet. It really is unbelievable at how much a slight "swish, swish" sound from an unbalanced, or rubbing elliptical will get on your damn nerves. I guess if you are the type to wear headphones while on it you could probably get away with a...

    that first colocoscopy

Guy, They try to not knock you all the way out so you can experience the pleasure of being violated. One sure fix to the being awake problem is to simply "honk" a nurse, they will give you plenty of the knock out juice then. And no, I am not :;:, nor am I using any :::. Just reach...
