All Seasons Roofing in Bismarck re-shingled my house in Mandan a couple of years ago. I didn't have any complaints, I worked directly with the owner and he gave me a cash discount.

Curt Reef of C and L Roofing is one of our own fishing gurus and just happens to be a roofing contractor, and probably sticks his nose in here once in awhile. He did my house several years back and did a very fine job. Get him before he gets busy. 701 258 3590 Ask him if he's still running that 21 foot skeeter or did he switch to the Nitro we had talked about several years ago!!!!

Oh! he has a siding crew and a gutter crew as well if you also need that service so it doesn't have to get subbed out.

All Seasons did a job for me several years ago. Owner was good to work with, crew left quite a bit of shingle garbage and nails around the perimeter of the house even though I was very adamant about it being cleaned up. I ended up cleaning up an extra pound or so of nails, and half a garbage can of shingles/tar paper.

Also had to have them come back a week later and replace about a dozen shingles where the nail holding it down was shot too low into the shingle and it wasn't covered by the overlying shingle. I thought that was at least as bad as the garbage in the yard/bushes.

Overall, I'd give them a grade of B+. Shingling is not hard, it's just hard work.

Thanks for the info guys. I ended up going with Robert Brendel. Very happy with his work. He went through the yard several times with a magnet and I've only found 3 nails since he left. He also upgraded my shingles from what was on there at no extra cost as well. I live on a hill that would make for a good wind tunnel so he used 6-7 nails per shingle instead of the typical 4. Also the cheapest of the 3 estimates I had.

I'm a little confused about a Grade of B+ for a roofer who leaves garbage in the yard and nails as well. I would think a roofer would own a large magnet to pick up nails as they can be dangerous. Roofing nails stand up easily because of the larger head. Easily go through shoes when stepped no so imagine what they do to bare feet.

Missing the shingle spot for nailing is completely unacceptable. If the nail was visible that is beyond a miss. That is complete carelessness. Shingles not nailed in the proper spot could possible void the warranty. Instead of grading so generously I would hesitate to pay at all until completely satisfied with the job.

My roof was reshingled a couple years ago. I had a couple questions/complaints and the company came out and addressed a couple of them. I do have a few exposed nail heads, the company stated they were the number needed and in specified locations per the manufacturer's warranty and were exposed because the roof was out of square and there was nothing they would do. I covered them up with roofing cement/patch. It appears from comments being posted here maybe I should have been a little smarter...

I had to eat some depreciation on the roof so I got estimates and was upfront that I needed their price and not what my insurance company listed it as. All Seasons beat all the others by a bit. We scheduled the roof for a couple months out as we were taking a long vacation. Beginning of August when they were supposed to start the sales guy called me wanting my insurance estimate. I reminded him of the situation and he said they would honor their original estimate. I assumed they were blowing me off but kept calling the sales guy and office and never heard back. Finally end of OCT they called and said they would be out. Everything got dropped off and a couple days later one guy showed up. He was a nice older guy from Peru. He pretty much did the whole job by himself (4days). I'm assuming he was a subcontractor as nothing said All Seasons on it like I had seen at other house. That guy did a awesome job though. He picked up every nail and piece of garbage before he left every night. So even though I wasn't happy with the way they handled things I am more than happy with the job that was done. And I saved about 3k in the process.

Beware of Joe Christoff/Capital Exteriors... Still dealing with a mess from this summer. Seems like a decent guy till you sign a contract, then doesnt respond to emails, workers dont show up when they are supposed to and the work they do is sub-par. Ended up emailing him tellign him I dont want them to do any more work, after it was snowing out and my gutters still werent replaced. Then they show up THE NEXT DAY to do the work... Why is it so hard to find decent repair places?

My assessment is most are decent untill the storm hits and the insurance money starts coming in. They see the $$$ and greed takes over. I had a few company's that would spend 30min walking my roof but wouldn't give me a estimate untill they saw my insurance quote. I told every one that came out it was essentially a cash deal. Nope they wanted the insurance company to set there rates.

I'm happy with the way things turned out and blame the sales guy more than the company as at least they made good on a promise.
