This is only about 20% of the flock on upper Pipestem yesterday afternoon. At the same time flocks all around in the air were in the thousands.

I spend more time watching the bald eagles following the migration than I do the geese. It’s amazing to watch!

Left Bismarck about 7PM yesterday headed East. There were huge gobs of geese all the way to Cleveland where I ran out of light to see them very far away.

Gobs translates to those huge pulsing flocks that make tornados when they're deciding whether or not to land. At least a dozen of those with bajillions more in the air looking more like migrating than heading out to feed or returning to roost.
