    Stocking a private pond.

Best reference for such interbasin transfer of biota I know of would be the supporting documents for the Red River Valley Water Supply Project's EIS. They spent a good deal of time on this topic because of Canada and Minnetucky.

The Regular 40 Hour Work Week

Highly variable for me, supposed to work 40, but when I have the kids I get in about 35-38. Weeks I don't have the kids are more like 40-42, and then there's the busy season where I work anywhere up to 35 days in a row of 8-16 hr days. Hopefully those years are now behind me (us). And wow...

    60 trees and bushes later................................

If the tree gets to be old enough and you still aren't seeing much fruit, try wounding it in the late fall by trimming the heck out of it. This seems to work on pear and apple trees. In particular, the pear tree I have now (well, one of a few) was known to kind of having stopped producing...

    Deep Fryer Oil Disposal

I use new oil in the pan every time for making fish. Then when it cools I toss a wad of paper towels in the garbage can and just pour it into the garbage. I only use about an inch deep oil bath though in a frying pan to make fish. It works for me anyway.

    Just filled boat & truck

Typically when I fill the pickup needs about almost 28 gallons of $3 diesel, and the boat takes about 18 gallons of $3 gas. So right around $130. The boat doesn't get filled nearly as often as the pickup though. May burn about 5 tanks of gas in that over the course of the summer. It's going...

    top soil erosion?

"They" would not be me. The cycle I have seen is roughly 22-25 yrs between the peaks (about 11-12 years at a time on each side of normal). Depending on one's opinion of "climate change or global warming", we are either just coming off the peak or we will continue to change. About the only...

Walleye Taste vs Northern Pike Taste?

Northerns are great eating, just so long as they don't come out of warm water. Also, their lateral line can be more robust than that found on a 16 inch walleye, so take some time to get rid of the darker flesh. As for comparing them to walleyes? To each their own, both are great table fare...

I vote we ban Lycan until such time as he develops more of a JohnR style taste in women. Damnit boy!

    Stop copying FBO forum topics

Right, the Friday Funnies is the longest running and most successful thread on FBO. Then again, it does pre-date current management. If we can't copy it, can we at least send a team over to steal it?

    Who Drinks Alcohol While Fishing?

I love my beer, but cannot remember the last time I had even 2 beers while fishing. After the fish are cleaned? Now that's a different story. - - - Updated - - - Gotta admit, I love that this site isn't hypocrisy driven. :D

    Our "Real Job"

I work with water quantity, in particular the problem of too much. In the past I've been farm-raised, Oilfield Trash, commercial fisherman, U.S. Marine, maintenance supervisor for a park, gambling site manager, near professional student, and lectured/did research at UND with respect to water...

    Calling our Lost Members

Yeah, I've been a member of FBO since it first hit the scene, but all I see over there now reminds me of when Coca Cola went to the New Coke version FBO. Good to see a lot of familiar ID's and faces.
