    Yup, Ive shot a couple deer with the 110s out of my heavy savage, rifle barely moves when you pull the trigger. They take off somewhere around 3600fps if I remember right, using TAC... Not the bullet Id choose for 600+ yard shots, but out to 400ish it works great.

    Get the 308 and load 110TTSX at moderate speeds and it should be very tolerable.

    IMO 7m08 is a great deer cartridge... If varmints are on the menu maybe 243, otherwise Id go a little larger bullet diameter.

    I like to keep lead out of animals Im eating, use lots of TSX and TTSX. Seen some comparisons online and the TSX seem to open better than the TTSX, but the TTSX has better BC. For deer Id go with a light bullet, I shoot 110TTSX out of my 308 and it destroys deer.

    Loosing petals seems to be more common on the smaller caliber bullets. Ive recovered an 85 grain from my 243 missing some pieces and seen pictures where it can happen. Better to have some bloodshot with 0 chance of lead than lead all over tho IMO.

    I use hockey skate laces, they come in orange and the waxed ones seem to hold knots better, not opening up while Im out walking, which is a PITA.
