    Nighttime sure does take the enjoyment factor up a notch. Every time I get a nest of fun I plan on bringing 2 or even 3 extra spools of line next time so I can just change the offending spool out with a new one, retie, and keep fishing. Then my brain kicks in and promptly forgets to do that...

    Braid to mono knot

    I've never had complete confidence in line to line knots. I use a mini barrel swivel on the braid with a 2 - 3 foot floro leader when I go muddin'. It may not be the best way of going, but it hasn't let me down yet on any of the big fish I've tussled with, so I'll stick with it.

    Nothing survives pike attacks for long. However, if pork can keep up with the white bass, bullheads, and smallmouth grabbing and trying to rip off the tails, I might just have a new favorite for jigging.

    Not a bad idea there svn. A pork twister tail or minnow would work just fine in the Sheyenne. Might have to investigate the possibilities if the pork is tougher than traditional plastic. Bullheads and pike just plain TRASH plastics.

    Christmas gifts

    First I thanked God for the gift of his Son. Then I was fortunate enough to see my entire family over the course of a week and a good portion of my in laws, chased roosters with my dog on Christmas Day (got 2), had a blast exchanging gifts, and stayed out of debt.
