    Audubon

Hit Audubon out of Totten Trail. Got out a little late, it was already hot and hazy. Water temp 77. Not to mention almost glass. Pulled bottom bouncers with spinners and crawlers along weeds to find active fish. Caught a handful of eyes and perch all barely big enough to take the hook. Switched...

    Barrel burners

Is a caliber being a “barrel burner” a huge concern to you guys? The ultra mags, swifts, weatherbys and such. Some people report as few as 1000 rounds in some calibers can ruin a barrel. Barrel life depends on a lot of things, but does a caliber known for running too hot dissuade you from...

    Coyote Cotalog

Has anyone used this? I signed up for a couple counties, looks like you get an email if a landowner signs up for coyote access. Just wondering if the email goes to everyone and its a rat race to the field.

    New ND CWD plan proclamation

Whole carcasses of animals harvested in North Dakota can remain in the deer unit, or may now be transported anywhere in the state. However, carcass waste must be disposed of via landfill or waste management provider. This does not apply to heads dropped at CWD collection sites or lymph nodes...

    Tiger Trout

KFYR Link Looks like the NDGF has stocked hybrid brook/brown tiger trout in a couple lakes (Fish Creek Dam & Hooker Lake). Nice looking fish and they appear to reach a decent size. Some googling shows that they are good in the frying pan as well.

    Aud 5/31

Took the day off and and hit the water around 7:30. Flat calm. Tried the totten trail area as well as east end. Nothing on cranks. Went to a BB with perch colored spinner and a minnow. Trolled weed edges in about 15 ft, took until 1:00 to get 3 eater eyes. Couple small pike. Slow, but a good day...

    New Boots

Any first hand insight on a new pair of boots to be used for ice fishing? Currently use a pair of Lacrosse muck style boots but they aren’t quite cutting it. I typically fish in a flip over or hub, and ATV my way around the ice. Really only considering a pair made in the USA or at least Canada.

More of ND's public land at stake

Sorry to bring one more piece of politics to the party but this one directly affects ND outdoorsmen. The ND dept. of trust lands has given "Notice of Intent to Adopt and Amend Administrative Rules August 26th, 2020". In essence, the new rules are to make selling state trust lands easier. We once...

    Walleye Rod Setups

I’m not a newbie when it comes to fishing, but I’ll be spending some cash on a few new rods for this season and was wondering what everyone prefers when it comes to walleye rods. What are your preferred setups for vertical jigging, pitching swimbaits, cranks, trolling etc.? I personally love 7’...

    Kicker mount removal

I’m currently kind of shopping around for a used walleye boat, and came across one that checks all the boxes. Except the fact that it has a big ugly kicker mounting bracket on the transom. I absolutely hate clutter and things that get in the way, and I also have no interest at all running a...

    Hb 1428

Another one... This was sent out to the e-tree concerning HB 1428 Corps of Engineers Land Transfer. Essentially 400,000 acres of hunting, fishing, and all recreation around Lake Sakakawea would be gone. River access would be gone. We simply cannot stand to lose any public land in this state...
