    Maple River Labs

Ruby x Nix Was looking at the pedigree and was pleasantly surprised to see that the girl dog we lost and the new girl pup share an ancestor, FC Running With The Devil. She'll be a full time family pet, casual gun dog, but will be getting lots of reps as a deer recovery dog.

We just put a deposit down on one of the red females. Pretty dang excited to get a puppy back into the house. We've been missing something since we lost our girl pooch in September.

    Youth Bow - Suggestions?

My boys, 7&6, have Diamond Prisms. We use them quite a bit and are really happy with them. Lots of adjustment and can go heavy enough to hunt with.

    How Long Before New Dog?

I lost my girl dog three months ago and it was devastating. She was my best buddy. We have one dog left (10 year old lab), but he is "my wife's". Don't get me wrong, I love that old guy and he is great. When my girl died I told myself I wasn't interested in getting another dog. Over the...

Does anyone read any C.J. Box books?

I did watch it. It's roughly based on the books. I think the author pulled the series because it wasn't following the books well at all. Besides that and some really bad CGI, I enjoyed the series quite a bit!

Does anyone read any C.J. Box books?

Started reading the Joe Pickett series on and off last winter and just started “off the grid” today. Dang it if these books don’t make me want to quit it all and become a loose cannon game warden. In a seriousness, I love the series so far! C.J Box can really weave the story lines together.

    It's getting worse every year.

Well, I punched my rifle deer tag on Saturday and put an end to my deer hunting season. It's always bitter sweet to be done right? I'm actually a bit sad I'm not going to be able to hunt deer anymore this year. But, here's the thing. I'm already obsessing over next year. Looking at maps of...

Aaron's 2023 Rifle Whitetail Deer | North Dakota | NPLife

And just like that I’m tagged out for the year. It’s bittersweet when you decide to squeeze the trigger. In an instant, what you’ve looked forward to all year is done. When I drew this tag I didn’t know what do. Because I didn’t draw the ability to hunt the refuge I had no idea where I was going...

    DSLR Cameras

To touch on Wirehairs L-series comment. For the RF mount, the longer focal length L series lenses telescope, so they aren't as big and bulky as they used to be. The issue is that the lenses are dumb expensive. The RF 70-200 F/4L is usually around $1,400. If wildlife photography is something...

    DSLR Cameras

Both of my cameras are Canon mirrorless (R6 &R7) I love them and would choose them again in a second. I don't know much about the R100. I did see that it is a crop sensor which means you would take the lens focal length and multiply it by 1.6x. My R7 is a crop sensor and my R6 is not, so for...

Persevere | 2023 ND Archery Whitetail | NPLife

What a season. I started working on my archery stands months before season this year. There was a lot of hard work clearing brush and making food plots with the idea of drawing deer and keeping them around into the late season. In the three weeks leading up to opening day, the deer were hitting...

Day 2 Redemption! | Prairie Grit Wyoming Antelope Hunt Pt. 2 | NPLife

Day one for Scott got off to a rough start. He had a couple of issues with his gun that led to a few missed opportunities on some great antelope. Some frustration and a good "once-over" help him figure out what his issue was and let him get some serious day 2 redemption. 2 antelope in 2 days...
