The action of the rod is true to the sticker. I don't have one scheels rod that acts like an extra fast tip and medium feels like medium heavy. Having recoil guides is just whipped cream on a turd.

Ndoutdoors hit the nail on the head everyone has an opinion. I always give the we example. My neighbor and I was fishing MN opener a few years back the one year pulled in three times the fish I did with a legend rod for rigging. The next year I am using a Scheels model (same rod as opener the prior year) I went 3 to zero. He throws. Down the legend and grabs one of mine and started picking up fish. The rod brand had no bearing it was all in the flexibility and taper we were both using shiners and red hooks same weight. (that was our go to to start the am).

Pete ey had rods for sale at sportshow ii bought one. They remind me of what Scheels used to sell

I bought some St. Croix rods when I worked at Gander Mountain in high school and could get them ordered at cost. To this day they are my favorite rods, and I feel like I could sell all the other rods I own just to afford one or two more St. Croixs.

I guess I have never felt a problem with that. I think they have awesome sensitivity. Maybe I just need to get one of these top end st croixs in my hands! Which would be better, The elite or the extreme? They are about the same price but It sounds like the elite has better guides, while the handle on the extreme is sweet. What about from a blank perspective and sensitivity?
