My mistake. FIL has one that looks similar...gray family synthetic wood, etc. Nice gun.

I know I will get a flogging. But, savage seems to have done a good job repairing the reputation they sullied in the 80s and 90s. I've got nothing bad to say about the 2 I bought since 2016. And that A17 looks really intriguing.

I wish I had one or two of the originals ( NIB automatics--various manufacturers) just to preserve history and available for research.

Also; FYI, the rounds fire a .172 as opposed to .177.

I think it's a good round. I think the lack of a decent rifle initially hindered its acceptance. As I mentioned earlier, Savage's initial rollout was garbage. Stock had way too much flex. Grouping was terrible.

It's probably bullet proof and one hole accurate: Why does Ruger insist on the ugliest turds conceivable? Why put a brake on a .17?!! I guess to appeal to the "A Team" folks. I realize it's a screw on bit of dumb ass. IMHO. If Ruger were a classic car it'd be a Dodge/Chrysler. MOW--PAHR!!!
