Anchutz is by far the best rimfire out there but are expensive. If you have a decent budget go with an CZ or a high end savage heavy barrel.

I have a bull barrel bolt savage and an A17 auto. Tons o fun. full disclosure, tho. Have savage in 22, 223, 243, and 30.06. I like Savage.

For those who haven't shot various types of .17 hmr ammo I have a little bit of a report. I shoot 17 grain Hornady vmax, by far the best in my opinion. I have shot Winchester vmax, one of the bullets split in my savage and became jammed, haven't shot those since. I have also tried the CCI dynamite hollow points, wasn't as satisfied as the Hornady. Also have shot some 20 grain Hornady but don't remember enough to recall.
