Haven't caught a halibut for a couple years so I'm gonna buy a buddy some gas and fish three days starting next Wednesday.

I usually fly strait home but I have been granted a hall pass by Mrs. huffranger to stay until Saturday.

My buddy has a 3025 Kingfisher with twin 250 Yamaha's. We will be staying in his floaterhome three nights.

I'm starting to get excited, I'll hang pics as I get them.

Nice! You going out of Seward then? My better half has relatives in Seward. We headed up there 5 yrs ago and among other things, did a fishing charter for halibut. We used FISH HOUSE charter. While we didn't catch any monsters, our boat did bring back a limit of halibut, I think it was too early for salmon as we only caught one. I think it was about this time of year if I recall. My wife did happen to catch an octopus as well. We caught a bunch of black bass I think they were called. We boated out into resurrection bay. We saw plenty of wildlife while on the charter! Awesome. Gotta love relatives that live in country like that!!
Good luck to ya!

I've been to Homer twice. The latest was this June. The cool temps were perfect. Fishing was great. The rain keeps the wind down.

Still on my bucket list. I have an uncle in Anchorage that keeps asking me to come up fishing. Could never have afforded to do it when I had the time. Now that I could afford it I don't have the time. I may just need to plan a year in advance and make it happen.

I lived in Sitka AK for a year and fished to my hearts content. Usually make it back about every other year. I miss catching big Halibut..... makes anything in ND look like bait.

We ran 40 miles east out of resurrection bay, fishing was not hot and heavy. He caught our two halibut per person limit with our yellow eyes too.Nothing big, hoping to change that tomarrow...

Second day was better

Today we were able to go 55 miles east out of Seward to the outer side of Montague Island. The fishing was better we found fish in 150 FOW and were able to limit out fishing the incoming and outgoing tides.During slack water fishing shut off giving us time to eat lunch and feed seagulls cheesy poofs. 30 was the most ate by one bird today..
