Didn't need another reason, but thanks. Anyone think there is a way to pass a law to force all federal agents working in states to wear red coats and federal judges to wear crowns? Maybe then everyone will get it? Probably not. We are so disgustingly top heavy. So much federal government needs to just go away, but if you pop that tick out, the disease stays.

Probably much more to the story than presented by Mr. “Real Deal”. He’s not what you should consider a reliable source. Grand Juries don’t pass out indictments like candy at the county fair, particularly in SoDak, a very red/conservative state.

I’d want to know the name of the “hunter”. I suspect he is connected to the feds somehow. You normal average everyday hunter wouldn’t file a complaint like this. This is an inside job. This is exactly why ranchers and farmers want to know who is on their property.

With today’s technology and a little investigation is all it would take. if it is public land and he had it posted he was in the wrong but at the same time the prosecution seems a little overboard. As far as a grand jury goes they only get to hear what the prosecutor wants them to hear, not all the facts.

I guess it's possible that a hunter with a accurate GPS and a good app could have complained. But this couple did nothing wrong. When they survey it the fence could be off on their side, you never know. It's a complete crock of shit and those agents should be kicked in the nuts.

They are claiming 50 acres not 50 feet. and it blocked access to public land. Was it always posted for yrs/decades or was it newly posted? This wouldn’t be the 1st time a rancher renting grassland tried to claim it as their own to keep hunters off. There is more to this story than that video shows.

Did you watch video? The acres are all from a or 2 strips of land from a fence built decades ago.

Video claimed the signs were posted in the 1950's by earlier maude farm family members not by this young couple.but agreed over the top charges one would think with the 15k 3rd world murderer's on the loose in our country and assassin's attempts on our past president the feds word be tied up with real offenses.

One acre of land is 8.25 feet by a mile. Maybe the great grandpa's pace count was off. That "public" land belongs to the people of SD, the federal government shouldn't be involved in the first place. Unless it is a national treasure like Yellowstone or one of the other national parks, the feds can fuck right off.

The fence was from the 50’s it doesn’t say anything about being posted prior.

Isn’t the dispute on national grasslands?

It is. It shouldn't be. The federal government has no business being in the land business. This "National" grassland should be South Dakota Grassland.

Why the heavy handed tactics by the feds? Sounds like the rancher was willing to work with them to get it surveyed and worked out amically why the need for a lawsuit?? Waste of taxpayer money!
