Seems like more moisture than all the rest of snow combined. My yard is back to square one before the melt.

Rapid is over a foot. I was just in Belle and it's probably 14" or so. Less south and west. Mud Butte area along 212 had 18" yesterday alone. But the wind has been mild to the west. East is UGLY. From about Murdo east the wind has been crazy and lots of snow. Drifts are big, 6-10' in places. Draw a line up to Watertown from there and then down to Sioux Falls and most areas have well over a foot. Still snowing too.

This storm is going to decimate the pheasant population. The south central part of the state flooded badly and lots of those birds were out of winter cover. If they didn't make it to the areas that weren't still in water they're probably dead. Bad, bad deal. Can't imagine having to calve in this weather either.

I'd hate to be calving now. Rough deal.

:(

As much as we like to shit talk farmers and ranchers here, farmers in the Midwest can’t seem to catch a break these last few years. The curse of plenty:
- plenty of bushels per acre
- plenty of moisture
- plenty of crops to bring in
- plenty of hay
- plenty of acreage
...decimated cattle herds
...rock bottom crop prices
...massive flooding
...no trees

Thanks for the updates fellas! :;:thumbsup
Feel sorry for the farmers and ranchers. Calving or not this weather is hard on animals. Could be lots of pneumonia going on too with the animals. All the birds will suffer from this for sure.

We are equal opportunity shit talkers. We’ll shit talk anybody who’s being a douche... hunters and fishermen too. Even our own members if they have it coming. I do not feel farmers or ranchers get an unfair shake on NDA.

Sounds like the corp had to switch a fair bit of their water releases out of Lake oahe through there flood tunnels since power lines are out of service and they can't move much of the electricity from the powerhouse through the impacted system.
