On July 10th, my wife and I were out fishing along the north shore around the Ft. Stevenson area. We had caught several fish after a couple hours, but we had enough of the heat and wanted to head in for lunch. Went to fire up my main motor and just a little click. Tried using my marine jumper cables from trolling motor to main. Got a little bit more, but main motor would not start. Put trolling motor back in the water and made my way over to boat nearby and asked him for a jump. After a couple minutes...BINGO...main motor was up and running. I thanked the gentleman and he was courteous to give me his cell phone in case I didn't make it back to the ramp. I did text him later to let him know we made it just fine and thanked him again. There are plenty of great angler sportsmen out there that are willing to take a couple minutes to help a person out. So a big well deserving KUDOS and to that angler from the Minot area.

If you are on this website....thanks gain for the assisting us. 👏 Guess it is time to get myself a new battery.

My last set of jumper cables had been in a storage compartment for 7-8 yrs. They’d rusted as I hadn’t looked @ them in forever and they crumbled when I tried to use them.

Since then I went the route below:

My former Lund would on occasion run the main battery dead, but with a 9.9 kicker started up, it would after a couple minutes juice up the battery enough to start the big boy.
