ATV and flipover must haves

Hey everyone, I recently got a used Eskimo grizzly flip over and plan to pull it behind my little cf moto 400. Trying to decide what I should all add to either the ATV or sled. I’ve got lights, going to install some Eskimo rod holders with their little square system. What else should I have? Should I shell out 300 for the brand name storage box? An I missing something obvious? I did put a rack on the front of ATV last year to hold my auger.

Get UHMW strips and put runners in the sled. You can pull it down the highway and not worry about the sled. Make sure you have a rigid hitch too.

shovel, tire chains, and if u got winch on the atv- one of those contraptions that u can stick down an ice hole if needed to pull yourself out if stuck.

As mentioned, tire chains, rigid hitch, runners on the sled. a foam tile works great to put under your feet to keep your feet warm. Carry as much gear on the atv as possible. Stuff in the sled bounces around and gets abused.

A tight cover for the sled to keep snow, slush and water out that the ATV kicks up. Hopefully your ATV has hand warmers.

I used 3 of the old Wire Milk crates bolted together on the back rack 5 Gal. pails fit them made my own auger rack up front out of wood But like the guys here say a good hitch because ropes suck. and the slides under your house and some kind of floor cause your always on your Knees doing things

I've played with a few options to haul more stuff on the ATV and finally settled with a bag on the front to carry tools, getting stuck removal tool (mentioned above), portable jumper, etc.

I put a set of three bags from Amazon on the back that carries a cooler/food/water, my heavy jacket, and some tackle. I used to throw my scope in the middle bag until bought the Kolpin drop basket/rack that now carries my livescope, fish bucket, and minnow bucket.

Agreed on all of the above. A Nylon recovery strap or 2 doesn't take up much room. A Ziplock with a few ATV body-panel push-pins either in the ATV storage or somewhere in your tow vehicle can be handy as well. I keep a Multi-Plier in my ATV storage compartment as well, it just stays there.

Assuming your ATV/House are on/in a trailer, Ratchet straps with handles large enough to use while your hands remain warm INSIDE your gloves.

I put a couple of U shaped "gun holders" on my ATV front rack and put my Kluge flighting in it. Drill goes in the storage box on the rear rack or in the sled.

I like gasketed screw-tops for my 5/6Gal buckets, except for the minnow bucket, a little sloshing and it'll freeze shut. A minnow net to keep your hands drier.

This is how I roll only a different ATV now days. Pull the covered Otter Pro Cabin and have the Clam hub onboard also. 3 - 5gal buckets will fit in the box on rear rack

Agree with a cover,pulling my flip being mobile is a must,limited gear,auger lays on the flip,rods,heater and lantern and flasher lays on flip floor,for walleyes a zip lock sandwich bag for a handful of dead minnows by the time you reach your Hotspot as we use just the minnow head most often on a vertical jig, small tackle box either in your jacket pocket or shack storage pocket,small needle nose plier, small lazer light on a lanyard for flashing/charging neon jigs with a nail clipper. But that's me,mobil for running and gunning, just incase jumbo perch are present a small tub of euro larva in white or red color is handy if perch are being finicky.. im to cheap to purchase a fixed hitch attachment for the sled so I use a heavy duty tow rope with a large hook to latch on to shack pull rope long enough to keep snow and slush from filling the shack whilst on the move. Extra auger blades are a good thought unless you use a chipper auger blade. Western prairie lakes,sloughs always have top soil on the ice it seems.

^^^^ great tip on the extra blades, dirty ice can ruin your day with shaver blades. Chipper, you can usually redneck a couple spare holes.
