Has anyone bought an auto fetcher for their dogs to use? I'm exclusively a chuck it guy, and like the idea of being able to throw the ball at a greater distance then with just my arm. But having a lab that can outlast you is tiresome. So I'm reaching out to others who have tried other gadgets for those long stamina man's best friends.

Yeah I figured kurtr that would be an issue as well, you would be in a different boat since your dog gets lots of exercise with training and hunting. Do you use a apparatus to help throw your dogs ball farther or do you just tain exercise? Buck can fetch continuously for 15 to 20 minutes then recoup and then go hard again. I couldn't imagine what he could do if I couldn't throw the ball farther without the chuckit the time would be even longer.

I use wingers but thats a whole different deal and expensive. Exercise wise i just got a side by side so i will start roading. While this is conditioning for field trials its still applicable just to exercise and have a healthy happy dog. It kind of explains how dogs exercise.

At the end of training he gets a couple fun bumpers but other than that i want the retrieve to be the reward so we dont do any thing with out a purpose behind it and also use denials as a way to teach. You dont follow the rules you dont get to pick up the bird.

Doing just some simple drills with dogs where they have to think can be as tiring as just mindless physical activity. Targeting drills really make them think.

Swimming is a really good way to tire them out also.

I have a dummy launcher that uses the 22 shorts and its a wrist breaking loud like 300 mag with a brake son of a bitch i dont even know where i have that damn thing. I dont know if i threw it away or still have it if some one wants it i would send it to them just pay shipping. I hate it and could see it causing a gun shy dog if not careful it is so damn loud.
