Brock isn't getting paid. The executive director is usually the only paid spot. However, the national org of BHA is funded by foundations. Super rich people like William and Flora Hewlett create foundations to give money for philanthropy. This system has lost its way. Foundations are giving huge sums to non-profit NGO's. With strings attached.

With strings attached. Here is a story. David Joyce made his money in lumber. His only child created the Joyce foundation. She died in 1972 and even she wouldn't recognize her creation today. Located in Chicago, the foundation funds gun control, environmental preservation and racial equality.

It's most famous board member, Barack Obama.

No. 1 Gun Control. Obama said he wasn't going to take your guns. Backcountry Hunters and Anglers president Land Tawney started an org, Montana Sportsmen for Obama.

No. 2 Environmental Preservation. Obama used the Antiquities Act to expand Monuments.

No. 3 Racial Equality. Not exactly the great unifier.

Money from foundations always comes with strings attached. This system has lost its way.

Don’t you guys want “dialogue on the best path forward” instead of “simply blocking voices so only your narrative is shown….wouldnt those who actually want what’s best for the deer be willing to have a meaningful dialogue???”

I will say, one of my social media guys said he will kind of miss the keyboard warriors….

This is all tremendously entertaining considering its coming from a bunch of dudes who have been hiding behind a page that blocks everyone who wants to have dialogue for the last 2 years. I’d be curious to see how many people Dusty has blocked….but I’m sure no one here wants to talk about that.

In a nutshell, what is this about?

Brock helps lobby for NDBHA. Brock blocked a bunch of people on a public Facebook page for posting facts that opposed his (a majority of people commented on them when he posted them in North Dakota big game hunting) because they outnumbered his opinion greatly.

Brock is fine with people lobbying and introducing Wildlife bills into the legislature as long as they follow their opinions/viewpoints and if they don’t it is ballot box wildlife management, unless NDBHA supports it.

I agree with somethings that NDBHA has to say, disagree with some things they have to say and like to ask questions/call out things that should be called out, and have actually had a conversation or 2 with him when he messaged me on Facebook, even though our opinions differed. NDBHA say they speak for the sportsmen of North Dakota and they get a seat at the table with the department on topics, but won’t state membership numbers, aren’t a grass roots organization where members get a vote on policy and lobby while saying other people that lobby shouldn’t be because opinions differ.

One of those pages you mention (the chronic wasting disease page) is a private page.. I would have zero problem with you blocking me off the NDBHA private page if I was on there, but you did off your groups public page that you use to post opinions on other public pages like North Dakota big game hunting. Dusty keeps a private page private and doesn’t post with it on public pages looking for input that hopefully matches his unless I’ve missed it so there is a difference you fail to mention in your post.

I have never once commented on a page using anything other than my personal page, never blocked you for reaching out to me twice on the topic in messenger, hell.. even my hunttalk and nodakangler profiles are my 3 initials.

Awe yes, censorship ! I guess I’m pretty fortunate in both of my jobs to be able to have the time do things that I want/do. It’s why I’m in those lines of work and plus they are enjoyable!

We censor the ones we want, and leave the ones we want on a public page.. but enjoy talking with the ones we want mainly because you think they can be swayed..

I won’t report you to Facebook brock! I think your page should able to remain even if I don’t agree with some of the things ya post! Plus I’ve learned the side, especially over the last few years, that likes to censor the other side of the aisle is usually the side that’s in the wrong..

Schafer is the executive director for the National Deer Growers.

The original Bill language was submitted by MT. Sen. Jon Tester in 2017. S2252. No money for research, $60 million to the Game and Fish Agencies for monitoring. No co-sponsors, no traction.

In 2019 Tester introduced S689. Added was some money for research. They reached out to the American Cervid Alliance to help drag their Bill over the finish line. I was on that National conference call to support or not support.

I explained to everyone on the call, Tester only carry's the Bill; he doesn't write it. He had a Montana Sportsmen's Advisory Panel of 19. All wildlife federation and other non-profit NGO's. Land Tawney Randy Newberg types. Tester took his website down as he finally got voted out.

The American Cervid Alliance did not support the S689 and it failed. In 2022 they approached the deer growers to help them. That is how Sen. John Hoeven got involved. S4111. His very first co-sponsor, Jon Tester.

If you overlay all three Bills, there are a few words moved around with research added, but they are the same Bill.

When Tester went to DC he took two Montanans with him. They served 4 years on Bidens federal council within the department of the Interior.

As I've already mentioned before in plain daylight on open public forums that YOU like to post in, I have no authority over who Dusty allows in his group and who he doesn't. It's not "my conspiracy group" and I have no say over its members. You however obviously do regarding the NDBHA public page and I'm asking you why you blocked me? I haven't made a comment on your page in nearly a month, so I'm not the one continuously bombarding your posts...

It's clearly obvious at this point you can't handle any criticism that is contrary to your beliefs AND I think it's obvious that at this juncture, by you banning people who provide reasonable and legitimate questions that might diminish the current CWD rhetoric, you are the one not willing to have open dialogue on the "best path forward for deer". I testified on HB1151 two years ago and when I was done and taking a seat, the federal guy sitting beside Brock, blew me a kiss.

A couple days later am looking at hunttalk and a fellow named schism says, "we know you are reading Dwight", and he blows me a kiss.

hunttalk is the one where the extremely intelligent hang and the moderators served on Tester's sportsmen advisory panel.

Land Tawney for years has been saying he is a fifth generation Montanan. Now Brock says he is a fifth generation North Dakotan.
