Don't neglect Countdown Raps and Texas rigged worms:

I've only caught a couple on spinnerbaits and both on Audubon:

Countdowns instead of jigs. Show them something different. A horizontal falling Trick Worm or the like is cheaper (no issues with pike cut offs) and is fished the same way:

I posted an orange worm because it's supposedly the most visual color for walleye:

Directly in the ice hole: Compare the price of this vs an ice jig Rap if a pike cuts it off:

This thread isn't some kind of bullshit. I hope it doesn't die like "Useful Stuff/Useful Knowledge" which also wasn't some sort of bullshit. Adjustment of size/color may be necessary as with all species. Walleye are NOT queer educated Montana trout in need of finesse.

They eat the same forage as bass and have fucking teeth. My premise is location and presentation...hmmm: Be more efficient and throw something "different".

That is all.

I have caught walleyes and pike together since I was knee high to a grasshopper.

I've even caught walleyes on baits I was fishing specifically for pike on, and of course, pike on baits I was specifically fishing for walleyes on.

I have never caught a walleye on a spinner bait and I fish the crap out of spinner baits.

For various large and small mouth varieties of "nonwalleyes".

I do a ton of bass and walleye fishing and a lot have been waters that contain both species. I have caught one walleye on a spinnerbait at Audobon. Very rarely do I catch walleye on bass baits. I have caught a few nice walleye throwing bass swimjigs but it’s few and far between.
