13.99 lb for prime grade prime rib here. Grabbing a 10 pounder for Christmas Day to go with the oyster stew
It is higher than that here even before all the price increases.
Going down to Costco after the first of the year and have to buy our New York Strip steaks again and a bunch of hamburger. (y)
Going to put a big dent in the credit card!

Anyone else think there's too much of a "grass fed" tinge in the last couple years? If I want that flavor, I'll eat venison. I've even caught it a few times in 1/4lbs from Mcd's then fed crows and vermin. Pisses me off to have to say this: The paper/etc stayed in the truck.

That is all.

New Year bbq/football all day... local butcher shot prime standing rib roast $49.95/lb!! We settled on Mac n cheese with a side of polish sausage. Ugh. Midwest stockyards claim down swing in our beef cattle, curious if the bird flu transmitted to cattle last spring is the culprit like last year chicken/eggs fiasco? Now that our national chicken population is back egg prices im my area $1.50/doz down from $5.99/doz for commercial grade eggs.

Some people complain tariffs drive up the price an American consumer pays. It is supposed to. Producers in our country have costs and overhead they need to recoup and make a profit. Cheap shit made overseas get a tariff bringing the price up on a product matching our prices. Let's protect our industries and workers at the water's/border's edge.

It is illegal to slash and burn the Amazon Rain Forest in Brazil. The incentive to do this and raise cattle is the ready American market for the ground beef. I have sworn off of the big burger doodles in the USA because the meat tastes terrible. It takes a special bovine (brahma) to survive the heat, parasites, bugs etc. This one pictured looks good compared to most.
