This would be unbelievable if it really happened.

How high could silver go in 2026?

If 2026 mirrors the 1979 bull market’s 409% return, silver could reach $492 per ounce by year-end. That’s not speculation — it’s what would happen if history repeats the same percentage gains from the last major precious metals bull run.
I think that has to do with the Hunt Brothers trying to control the silver market it went from 6 to 50. Then it all caved on them and the silver market .

I'm not sure these rampant rising gold and silver prices are a good thing. Remember. High gold price means low dollar value and vice versa. What the current pricing is telling me is that a gallon of milk will be 62 bucks and eggs will be 5 dollars each. That might be greatly exaggerated, but the relationship between the dollars value and gold prices is well documented. Careful what you wish for. Stay Warm out there fellas.

Bad part is very few people are actually buying it locally and if they are it isn't just bring it in and we will buy whatever you got. They have been very careful about what they buy and how much they are buying. The consistent buyers you see are the ones who are trying to lowball offering scrap or way below spot. fwiw.

Not wishing for the dollar's collapse at all. Just reacting to what is happening and trying to minimize its effect on me. For years it has been reported on the news from multiple sources of the danger of fiat money and possible courses of action that people can take.
I tried to help out the people on this site that may have been unaware as best I could with information. We all make choices. I remember earlier some coming across (maybe wrong on my part) that they were happy with their guns and ammo and why would they ever consider gold/silver. And a bucket of minnows . . . was even a better option (Posted somewhat in jest.) The hope was that y'all on this site would take the information provided and also share it with others too. There still is time . . . But its window appears to be closing. ??

It is the fiscal irresponsibility of our elected officials through the years that is a BIG part of its cause. And in the end, it will be "Trump's fault" for letting it happen and not taking appropriate action. The blame goes back years. And years. Remember rhetoric of the need for a balanced budget. You don't hear that much anymore at all. Too bad people like Proxmire are no longer around to voice their concerns. And at least try to do something about it. Now, it appears nothing at all ....

Like I earlier posted, a lot of people will get hurt in the end. If they haven't already. Not a good thing at all. I see it on the street even more now. Many with nothing. I am vacationing in Florida and on the news the other day they reported that over half of their residents are living paycheck (which also includes SS and government aid) to paycheck.

It is all sad.

I feel some of Lunk's "pain" with reactions to his Covid posts. Even my own "family" laughed at my concerns saying I was nuts to invest in gold/silver. And still do.

Well I tried. I think I failed . . .
Let'er rip Maddog. Being laughed at doesn't equate to you being wrong. Oftentimes it is confirmation of uncomfortable truths.

elon predicted recently that soon money wont be useful or necessary, at least as we currently think of money. He said flat out in an interview just a few weeks ago that if you have money, spend it, there is no reason to save for retirement anymore...

wont have to, or people will be allocated credit of some sort for existing, kinda like a universal basic income. According to him, we have always lived in a world of scarcity, but we are entering an age of abundance, where everyone will have all their basic needs met, and likely much more. The real 'challenge' might be how people will determine value and maintain self worth in a society where jobs are a thing of the past and all needs are met. Competition for resources may be unnecessary. That is one of the main factors that women use for mate selection. In the future, if we get to the point where resources arent a primary factor in reproduction, likely physical attraction and personality traits and maybe even genetic screening might be used for selection, hard to say for sure I guess. With current birth rates, the global population of humans might plummet in the next century or so.

So is Elon giving up or spending his money? I doubt it.

Virtually no chance of this happening IMO. Greed is VASTLY more powerful to the human condition than empathy, selfless actions, or utopian motivators of any kind. If by some minuscule chance this process was to be initiated, I rather doubt the wealthy elites will give up their financial positions, status, power, and all other trappings of being rich in an effort to elevate the plebs to lives of comfort and abundance. Selfishness is universal in humans, selflessness is a rarity. Sad, but just the way it is. Very few people would willingly labor when all their needs are being met. Just look at the welfare recipients currently on the books. Now make that nationwide. People would have to be forced to go do construction, farming, oil production, or essentially any other job. I agree with guy. What a recipe for disaster.

there will always be an elite class, as long as humans are in control, no doubt about that. I didnt say all 'wealth' would be distributed equally, just that many are predicting that everyone will have a very comfortable level of existence with little to no labor required. You are assuming humans will be required for all those industries, think bigger. Elon is also predicting that humanoid robots will outnumber actual humans on earth in the not distant future. Of course hes moving into the 'robot' business, but hes got a nack for predicting the future, even if his timeframes arent always perfect. Also you are assuming that humans will control things, again think bigger. When/if we end up with a superintelligent AI, there is virtually no chance that humans will be able to control it forever.
