Camping at New Johns

Curious if anyone has camped at Lake New Johns before? Which side of the lake presents more enjoyment? If we're going to the west side we'll be nearest the landing and gazebo, but will most likely have higher traffic and dust. If we're across the east side there might be nicer setting and less traffic. Both sides have the outhouse bathrooms, if memory serves me right. There's no way of getting out of the wind because the lake has about three trees!

What have you experienced for pros/cons?

i see traffic being about the same all around the lake, if you're worried about dust i'd just check the wind direction right before you go and pick according to that so its not blowing in off the road. I liked staying on the north side and on charlie towards the canal. a few sites have nicer beaches, kinda just have to look. It actually gets pretty busy during the summer too so like anywhere else sometimes it comes to just having to pick from whats left.
